111Periods 9-10 Project: Making a booklet about fitness教学设计一整体设计教材分析This part is designed to help the students learn English through doing a project. The reading material in this part is for students to learn the importance of living a healthy life and how to keep fit. The purpose of this section is to make students use what they have learned to finish a project by working together. 三维目标1. Ask the students to prepare for a free-talk for about two or three minutes. They can introduce themselves to their classmates or say something about whether they are living healthy lives, or even make a plan for their healthier life. This will help all the students to take part in in-class activities and help them to know how to keep fit. If some students really have some difficulty in doing this, the teacher can help them to prepare for it before class.2. Encourage the students to go to the library or surf the Internet to get some information about how to keep fit, if possible. They can also be divided into several groups to get some information about health and fitness in different countries as they like.3. The dairy group has food like milk, cheese and sour milk. The other three groups are the meat and fish group, the fruit and vegetable group, and the bread and rice group. Each meal should have at least one food from all four main groups. With all these food together, you will be given enough energy during the day.It is easy to get into bad eating habits. You may eat your breakfast in a hurry to get to school on time. Or you may not have time for a good lunch. It may seem easy to finish your supper with fish and chips all the time. But you will find yourself tired in these days and you cannot think quickly.Watching what you eat will help keep your body healthy and strong. It is also good to take some exercise. It will help you eat more if you take a walk or play games in the open air. Then ask them how they think of them. The teacher shows two pictures, one is Zheng Xiuwen, and the other is Victoria Beckham. Ask the students whether they know them and what they think about them. Step 3 SkimmingAt the beginning, teacher may ask the students whether they and their schoolmates are living healthy lives.And then, the teacher may put forward a topic about breakfast to discuss with the students.Perhaps, there are many students who often have no breakfast in school, possibly because they want to have more sleep, or they want to lose weight. In this activity, teacher and students may discuss the disadvantages of without taking breakfast. Activity 2 SkimmingAsk the students to turn to page 58 and skim this article, which is from a magazine and then find out the main factors to keep fit.Answers: eating the right food; exercising regularly; drinking a lot of water; having enough sleepIn your opinion, how can we keep healthy and fit?Answers: A healthy body is very important to every one of us. When you are sick, you feel painful all over your body, have no energy to work; and the only thing you want to do is lying on the bed. When you are healthy, you can eat well, sleep well, sing and jump happily, do all the things you like to enjoy life.The methods to keep us fit vary. In the morning, you can get up early, go outdoors, breathe the fresh air, and do physical exercises. Running and swimming are extremely helpful to keep one fit. If you are a busy person and have no special time allocated to do these things, there are still some ways useful for to keep fit. The easiest way is to walk to your office instead of riding a bike or taking a bus. You also have to take a routine physical check-up. Your doctor will know the condition of your body most clearly, and he will give you the most valuable advice to keep fit. You should always try to make yourself happy.
