When eating something in a bowl, do not leave the spoon in the bowl. Put it on the plate beneath the bowl. And never pick the bowl up to hold it closer to your mouth. G,One Mans Efforts: Result of Perseverance,In the 1860s, a creative engineer named John Augustus Roebling was hit by an idea to build a splendid bridge connecting New York City with Brooklyn. However, no bridge building expert thought this was possible to come true.,After much discussion and persuasion, he managed to convince his son Washington, a good engineer, to join him. Working together for the first time, they developed concepts of how to overcome trouble and fi nish it.,Vocabulary,Structure,Notes,Text,The project started well, but when it was only a few months under way, an accident,on the site took the life of John Roebling. Washington was injured and left with a certain degree of brain damage, not being able to walk or talk or even move.,Vocabulary,Structure,Notes,In spite of the difficulties, Washington was never discouraged and still had a burning desire to complete the bridge and his mind was still as sharp as ever. But all he could do was to move one fi nger and he decided to make the best use of it. He slowly developed a code of communication with his wife by touching his wifes arm with that fi nger.
