2015届高考英语二轮专题专练: 任务型读写 A任务型读写阅读下列短文,根据所读内容在表格中的空白处填入恰当的单词。(注意:每个空格只填一个单词)Some people believe that greed and selfishness has become the basis of modern society, and we should return to the old traditions of family and community then we will have a better life. To what extent do you agree or disagree with the above opinion? In this fastpaced world, many values are undergoing major changes. While people traditionally prioritize(优先考虑) caring, sharing and generosity in life and work, modern people seem to be more selfabsorbed and selfconcerned. Modern people act selfishly to survive the harsh competition of life. They say that it is a jungle out there. To survive, you have to fight with whatever means that come handy. Obviously greed and selfishness go perfectly well with such ideas. In a company, employees do everything they can to get better pay and higher position, even at the cost of colleagues. We are in any way advocating any selfish conduct. It is just that people are pressured to act in a certain way due to outside influences. In spite of common practice, it is hard to conclude that modern society is built on greed and selfishness, both of which are not newly invented vocabulary. In ancient times people also did greedy and selfish things though such behaviors were more condemned then. But we can not ignore the fact that people in the past lived a relatively more isolated life and faced less pressure compared with their modern counterparts. Are we happier to share with others and be generous to them? There is no fixed answer either. Some people take great pleasure helping and giving to others while others feel happy doing the opposite. But I personally think that people should not be too selfish. Caring for others can actually encourage the development of a mutually beneficial relationship. In conclusion, modern people appear to be more selfcentered than those in the past due to strong outside pressure. However, we should encourage people to know the importance of being caring and generous and to build a mutually beneficial relationship with others. Are Modern People Becoming More Selfish?B任务型读写阅读下列短文,根据所读内容在表格中的空白处填入恰当的单词。(注意:每个空格只填一个单词)Humans are social beings. We enjoy being understood and accepted. Unfortunately, Western culture values individual achievement more than personal relationships. Were better at finding career success than at connecting with other people. As a result, our relationships often suffer. Here are tips for better relationships with everyone.Everyone wants to share the newest story, the great idea they have and their thoughts and advice. When talking to someone, hear him/her out without judgment or interruption. Focus on whats being said and do your best to understand. All relationships require trust. Having no trust means worrying about what others are doing, thinking and saying when youre not around. It means monitoring and controlling someone instead of enjoying them. You probably feel let down at the time when you fail to tell others what you want and then blame them for not reading your mind. So when you want somethingor want to share somethingbe honest about it. Expressing your desires might feel uncomfortable, but it gives the other person a fighting chance to give you what you really want. Were always looking to gain something from other people: positive emotions, knowledge, gifts. This is fine: humans are selfish by nature. The problem is, you cant just take and take in relationships. If you dont give back something of equal or greater value, theres no reason for other people to stay around you. In todays world, its always about “me, me, me.” This is why our relationships with friends, family are weak. You cant connect with other people if youre thinking about yourself all the time. The best way to build better relationships with everyone is through positive actions.TitleBuilding better relationshipsThe 1._ of suffering relationshipsWestern culture values individual achievement 2._ than personal relationships.3._ ofbuilding betterrelationshipsLearn to listen and 4._.When talking to someone, hear him/her out.Trust other people. When you are not round, never 5._ about what others are doing, thinking and saying.Be honest about 6. _ you want. When you want something, 7._ your desire frankly.Be a giver. If you want the people to stay around you, give back something equal or more 8._.9._The best way to build better relationships with everyone is to act 10._.答案:1.cause2.more3.Ways/Methods4.understand5.worry6.what7.express8.valuable9.Conclusion10.positivelyC任务型读写阅读下列短文,根据所读内容在表格中的空白处填入恰当的单词。(注意:每个空格只填一个单词)Our website aims to help people find the best book at the best price on the Internet. An American shakes your hand firmly while looking you straight in the eye. In many parts of Asia, there is no physical contact(接触)at all. In Japan, you should bow, and the more respect you want to show, the deeper you should bow. In Thailand, people greet each other by pressing both hands together at the chest. In both countries, eye contact is avoided as a sign of respect. Many countries have rules about what you should and shouldnt wear. For this reason many people eat a light breakfast and a late dinner. In Mexico, lunch is a time to relax, and many people prefer not to discuss business as they eat. For example, if you look at the audience at a classical concert, the majority is over the age of fifty.Others say it is more popular than we first imagine. Many young people listen to classical music without realizing. It is often used in films and advertisements. For example, a famous piece of classical music was used as the theme music for the 1990 World Cup. Not many people could have given its name, but millions enjoyed it.Also, some people point out that young people produce new music based on classical ideas: for example, it is said that rap(说唱)music was invented by a classical musician in 1912, but it is now used by young people in pop music. However, young people point to the fact that classical music has been outstripped (超越) by technology. To play a classical instrument, such as a violin, you need to study hard and practise for hours. Nowadays, you dont need to get aching arms from practicing. A teenager can write and make music using a computer program in the comfort of their own bedroom.A final point to bear in mind is that the term “classical music” is used to refer to a great variety of music, from jazz to pieces for large orchestras(管弦乐队). This makes it even more difficult to say whether classical music is relevant to young people. So, it may be only a minority of young people who play classical instruments, but when it comes to enjoying classical music, it depends on the piece of music. It may be more relevant to young people in the modern world than they realize!TitleClassical MusicIntroductionThe issue of whether classical music 1._ to young people causes heated debateOpinionsEvidence*Classical music is associated only with old people.*2._ of the audience at a classical concert are over fifty.*Many young people dont 3._some music they listen to is classical.*Classical music is often found in films and advertisements.*Classical ideas provide a 4._for producing new music.* Young people now 5._ rap in popular music.*6._has put classical music at a disadvantage.*A young man can write and make music on a computer 7. _ in his bedroom.* “Classical music” can refer to various 8. _of music.* Classical music 9._ from jazz to pieces for large orchestras.ConclusionClassical music may still be 10._ by young people today.答案:1.relevant2.Most3.realise(realize)/know/recognise(recognize)4.basis5.use6.Technologyfortably8.kinds/types/sorts9.ranges10.enjoyed/loved/lMain comparisonsContexts_1_ are changing. In the past people put caring, sharing and generosity in the first _2_.Nowadays, people seem to be more _3_about themselves._4_ are changing too.People in the past appeared to be modest and selfeffacing(谦让的)The authors understandingPeople may strive to achieve their own _5_ at the price of their coworkers._6_ for the changes in authors eyesFierce _7_ and great _8_ on modern people may be responsible for the changes. The authors _9_towards topicA relationship which can _10_ two sides should be established.答案:1.Values2.place3.concerned4.Behaviors5goals6.Reasonspetition8.pressure9attitude10.benefit
