Language points1. proud adj.自豪的；自尊的；自傲的be proud of 以为荣、自豪pride n. 自豪, 得意takepridein = beproudof 对感到自豪。2. invite v. 邀请“邀请某人干某事”为invite sb. to do sth。3. thanks to “由于，多亏”，是介词短语。 thanks to常带有“感激”的感情色彩, 表示由于某个人或某物的存在才有某种好的结果。thank sb. for sth. / doing sth. 为感谢4. give up 放弃;投降，认输; 猜不出。5. raise 在这里是动词，意为“举起”。raise还有“提起，使升高，引起，扬起，提高，增加，筹款，召集，提出，养育”之意。 raise是及物动词，后面一定要加宾语；而rise是不及物动词，后面不能加宾语。6. try ones best 尽某人最大的努力。7.not only but also的用法主语并列时代词用主格代词；这个结构还可以并列动宾短语、介宾短语等。8. disappointed adj. 失望的disappointed指“对.(人/物)感到失望的”, 通常作表语，用于修饰人。disappointing指“令人感到失望的”, 可以作表语也可以作定语，通常修饰物。无
