On a bright, warm July afternoon,Mac Hollan,a primary school teacher, was cycling from his home to Alaska with his friendsOne of his friends had stopped to make a bicycle repair, but they had encouraged Mac to carry on,and they would catch up with him soon.As Mac pedaled(骑行)along alone,he thought fondly of his wife and two young daughters at homeHe hoped to show them this beautiful place someday. Then Mac heard quick and loud breathing behind him.“Man,thats a big dog!”he thought. But when he looked to the side,he saw instantly that it wasnt a dog at all,but a wolf, quickly catching up with him.Macs heart jumpedHe found out his can of bear spray. With one hand on the bars,he fired the spray at the wolf.A bright red cloud enveloped the animal, and to Macs relief,it fell back, shaking its head. But a minute later,it was by his side again. Then it attacked the back of Macs bike, tearing open his tent bag.He fired at the wolf a second time, and again,it fell back only to quickly restart the chase(追赶)Mac was pedaling hard now.He waved and yelled at passing cars but was careful not to slow down.He saw a steep uphill climb before him.He knew that once he hit the hill, hed be easy caught up and the wolfs teeth would be tearing into his flesh. At this moment,Paul and Becky were driving their car on their way to Alaska. They didnt think much of it when they saw two cyclists repairing their bike on the side of the road.A bit later, they spotted what they, too, assumed was a dog running alongside a man on a bike.As they got closer, they realized that the dog was a wolf.Mac heard a large vehicle behind him.He pulled in front of it as the wolf was catching up fast, just a dozen yards away now. Paragraph 1:The car abruptly stopped in front of him.Paragraph 2:A few minutes later, the other two cyclists arrived. 1:The car abruptly stopped in front of him.设问:Why did it stop? How did Mac feel? What would Mac/Paul do?. 2:A few minutes later, the other two cyclists arrived.设问:After they arrived, what did they see? How did they feel? What would they do?. The car abruptly stopped in front of him.,在行文过程中应抓住关键词语the car stopped,再发挥丰富的想象,把Paul停车后如何在千钧一发之际拯救Mac的过程写得趣味横生又合乎情理。 A few minutes later, the other two cyclists arrived.,起承上启下的作用。 Why did the wolf chase Mac? What did Paul see when driving the car on the way to Alaska? He pulled in front of it as the wolf was catching up fast, just a dozen yards away now.Why did he stop the car?(4)在确定了思路和内容之后,续写时,要注意句子结构的多样性,语言的丰富性,并通过句与句之间连接词的正确使用,使上下文连贯。 Paragraph 1:The car abruptly stopped in front of him.Paul rolled down the window and yelled,“Man,get in the car!” Without any hesitation,Mac jumped off the bicycle and dashed into the back seat of the car.At the same time, the wolf caught up.Luckily, the cars door was firm enough to stop the wolf. However, they couldnt just stay there.Because the wolf was under the protection of the law, they couldnt kill it.So Paul pressed the button of the horn to make an alert. Finally, the wolf left and disappeared.Paragraph 2:A few minutes later, the other two cyclists arrived. They were shocked to see that Macs tent bag was in poor condition. And they were even more shocked to hear that he met a wolf. After a short rest,Mac was much better. So they thanked Paul and Beeky and decided to continue pedaling to Alaska.Time flew; the sun was hiding its last gold like a miser.Though tired,Mac thought of his wife and lovely children again. He had such a horrible but exciting experience to share! When I was eleven years old,I had a big accident.I get scared even now when I think about that time.I went_skating near my house. There were many people, and I saw some of them falling on the ice.It was my first time to go ice skating,so I was nervous.I was wondering how to skate.I went with a friend who was very skillfulHe spent some time teaching me how to skate, but I didnt learn much.He left me and skated all around. As soon as he left,I fell_downI envied the other people because they could skate_wellI was bored because I kept falling so I took off my skates and just walked around on the ice in my shoes. It was cold and my hands were frozen.Suddenly,I stepped on something that was not hard. What was it? It was a weak place in the ice. When I stepped there,I sank under the ice.I thought that I was going to die,but I did my best to grab something to get out from under the ice.I tried to grab the edge of the ice,but it was very difficult for an elevenyearold. It seemed like a very long time, like a year. Then, fortunately, someone helped me.He grabbed my arms and pulled me up.So,I lived and Im still alive today.I thanked him.At that time,my friend came back.I was annoyed at him because he was supposed to take_care_of_me,but he didnt. He was embarrassed. When I took a taxi home, the taxi driver was surprised and asked what had happened.I didnt want to say anything because I was tired and scaredEven now,whenever_I_think_about that time,I feel unfortable.I dont want to go skating again even now. Paragraph 1:It was long before I went skating once again,Paragraph 2:However,ever since then I havent found any time to go skating,思路导航思路点拨本文讲述了作者11岁去滑冰的一段经历,由于自己的滑冰技能不如别人娴熟,因而独自一人尝试练习总会跌跌撞撞,从而对滑冰这件事留下了不好的印象。由续写第一段的提示语“It was long before I went skating once again(很久以后我才又一次去滑冰)”可知,这一次去滑冰,作者会抱着不一样的态度。 续写词汇已给提示词汇:went skating, skillful, fell down, skate well, fortunately, take care of me,scared, whenever I think about可能用到的词汇:advise, decide, follow ones advice, patiently, grateful, careful, lose heart, failure, face bravely【参考范文1】Paragraph 1:It was long before I went skating once again, and that was when we graduated from the university. Our monitor advised us all to go skating, and I decided to follow his advice although I still felt a little scaredSoon we were active on the ice.One of my roommates was very skillful and she patiently explained to me how to start.Step by step,I was able to stand up on the ice myself and headed out a little, not so steadily and I fell_down many times.I was grateful to her for I managed to skate that day, though I couldnt be like others, who could skate_wellI had a nice time that day!Paragraph 2:However,ever since then I havent found any time to go skating, because immediately I dived into the applying for the suitable jobs. And then, fortunately,I met my honey and got married. As was expected, one baby came into the world and was now smiling to me every day.As for the skating, maybe I could be on the ice again when my baby is grown up and asks me one hundred times!【参考范文2】Paragraph 1:It was long before I went skating once again, acpanied by one of my friends. This time I was careful and cautious, and my friend took_special_care_of_meI was so fortunate this time that I managed not to fall_downGradually I learned to skate_well and became skillfulI felt very confident and no longer scaredParagraph 2:However,ever since then I havent found any time to go skating, not because I do not want to go_skating,but because I am too busy working.Ive learned a lot from these two skating experiences. We all have moments of desperation. But if we can face them bravely, thats when we find out how strong we really are.Whatever you do,you must have the patience to do it as well as the skill.Remember: never get too much pride because of victory or lose heart in case of failure. An 80yearold man was sitting on the sofa in his house along with his 45yearold highly educated sonSuddenly a crow(乌鸦) perched(栖息) on their window. The father asked his son,“ What_is_this?” The son replied,“ It_is_a_crow.”After a few minutes, the father asked his son for the second time,“What is this?” The son said,“Father,I have just now told you,its a crow!”After a little while, the old father again asked his son for the third time,“What is this?”At this time some expression of irritation(恼怒) was felt in the sons tone when he said to his father with a rebuff(生硬回绝)“Its a crow,a crow.” A little while later, the father again asked his son the fourth time,“What is this?”This time, the son shouted at his father,“Why do you keep asking me the_same_question again and again, although I have told you so many times IT IS A CROWAre you not able to understand this?”A little later the father went to his room and came back with an old tattered(发皱的) diary, which he had maintained since his son was born.On opening a page,he asked his son to read that page. When the son read it,the following words were written in the diary:“Today my little son aged three was sitting with me on the sofa, when a crow was sitting on the window. My son asked me 23 times what it was,and I replied to him all 23 times that it was a crow.I hugged him lovingly each time he asked me the same question.I did not at all feel irritated but I rather felt affection for my innocent son. Paragraph 1:After reading the diary,Paragraph 2:Feeling ashamed, the son got down on his knees before his father. 续写词汇已给提示词汇:son, father,What is this?,It is a crow.,time, irritation, the same question, affection可能用到的词汇:tear, reflect, think back, patiently, old age, burden, apology, forgive, promise, care for, treat well【参考范文】Paragraph 1:After reading the diary, the son was filled with tears and began to reflect on the days when he used to sit together with his fatherHis father would patiently answer the_same_question all 23 times without feeling irritation while his father asked him the same question just four times! The son thought to himself: If I attain old age,how will my son look at me? Will he think of me as a burden? Will he shout at me because of my poor sight, poor hearing or poor understanding?Paragraph 2:Feeling ashamed, the son got down on his knees before his father. He made an apology to his father, begging his father to forgive him for his bad behavior. He said this aloud,“I promise to see you happy forever,Dad.It is you who have cared for me ever since I was a little child, showering your selfless affection on me.You worked hard to make money so that I could afford to go to university.I will serve you in the best day.” I was touched through experiences, memories, books, stories, animals, angels, and most of all other people.People have moved me and molded(对影响重大) me with moments of love and examples of kindness. One time on the day before Christmas many years ago when I was a minimum wage mill worker,I found myself with very little money and very little time to buy my small children a few simple toys.I knew that they would have to be cheap ones and I hoped my children would like them.I hated not having enough to give them more.I hated being poor. And I hated feeling bad at Christmas rather than happy.I pulled_into a store parking lot and counted my money again. It wasnt much but maybe I could get something small with it.As I was getting out of the car I noticed the Salvation Army bell_ringer at the entrance.I felt bad again because I didnt feel I could spare anything to give him.I started walking towards the entrance when two cars pulled into empty parking spots in front of me.The first was a shiny, new Cadillac and I felt a twinge of jealousy when I saw it.“How nice,” I thought,“Would it be to have enough money to buy a car like that.” The second car, though, was an ancient sedan(轿车) more beatup and rusty than the one I was driving.A man rushed out of the Cadillac and hurried into the store right past the bell ringer without a second glance.Out of the old sedan came a young mother with three small children in tow(紧随着)Her clothes looked as worn out as her car,yet she stopped in front of the bell ringer, smiled, opened her purse, and dropped a bill in his red kettle(钱罐)注意:1. Paragraph 1:I stood there for a minute in astonishment.Paragraph 2:In that second a warmth touched me,my jealousy and hatred(憎恨)left me,and all the love and joy that are Christmas filled me. 续写词汇已给提示词汇:Christmas, children, hated, pulled into, car, bell ringer, purse, dropped, kettle可能用到的词汇:think, help the poor, judge, respect, example, wish, enjoy, wonderful, meaningful, love【参考范文】Paragraph 1:I stood there for a minute in astonishment. “Maybe,” I thought to myself,“its better to be rich on the inside instead of the outside.” That rich man should have done something to help the poor, but he didnt.Sometimes it was really wrong to judge a person by his or her appearance.I really had respect for the poor mother from the bottom of my heart. She set a good example for her children to follow.Paragraph 2:In that second a warmth touched me,my jealousy and hatred(憎恨) left me,and all the love and joy that are Christmas filled me. I fished a bill out of my own purse, dropped it in the Salvation Army kettle, and wished the bell_ringer a merry ChristmasI found a few fun things to give my kids and drove home with my heart singing.I knew it was going to be a wonderful Christmas.I could hardly wait to see my children enjoying the presents bought for them, including a special giftlove for those in need. Mr Brown lived in a house less than two miles away from his office. He was therefore able to drive home every day for lunch.Every time he drove in the middle of the day,he found cars were parked in the road outside his house, and there was no room for his own car.He had to drive two blocks farther before he could find a place to parkThen he had to walk home. This made him very angry. He had put up a board which read “No Parking!” in the garden facing the road, but nobody seemed to pay attention to it.People only obeyed a_police_notice,but not a private one. There were no parked cars where there was a_blue_board_with_white_letters on it: Police NoticeNo Parking!Mrs Brown suggested that he should steal a police notice. But he dared_not,being_afraid_of_going_to_prisonShe then suggested that he make one just like a police notice. He said he was not a policeman and couldnt_use_the_word_“police”He decided that he must find a way out and started thinking hard. For several days, the smell of paint filled the house. One night he showed his wife a new notice board. It was painted in white letters on a blue board: Polite_NoticeNo Parking!“Oh,” Mrs Brown said,“but you told me you werent going to use the word policeThats exactly like a police notice.”“Is it?” he asked.“Look again.”She began to laugh,“You are really rather clever.” Paragraph 1:Why did Mrs Brown say her husband was really rather clever?Paragraph 2:If the police discovered that the Browns were using a police notice,思路导航思路点拨本文讲述布朗先生巧妙模仿警察通告的趣味故事。 续写词汇已给提示词汇:park,a police notice,a blue board with white letters, steal, dared not, being afraid of going to prison, policeman, couldnt use the word “police”,Polite Notice可能用到的词汇:find, know, real, instead of,rather than, clever, punish, remain calm, look carefully, laugh, realize, what happen
