Back-up expendable container dimensions must be less than or equal to the returnable dimensions and have the same standard pack quantity. Supplier shall perform the appropriate validation tests and retain records Version 2.6 5/6/2005 _ GM1700 (v2.6) Page 14 of 23 Global Supply Chain (GSC) GM1700 Global Supply Chain Requirements documenting the validation test method. Passing results for all expendable designs must be obtained prior to shipments to the specified GM location(s). Supplier is responsible for following GMNAC transportation and loading guides as described below: Total load lateral and longitudinal package movement within rail car/truck may not exceed three (3) inches. Position load blocking devices in the rail car or truck, when necessary, to insure packaging will withstand shipping impact forces. Use the total cubic space of the rail car/truck to the greatest possible extent, while maintaining sufficient clearance to lift loads from the carrier. 6.4 Labels Refer to hotlinks listed in section 1 General Information 6.4.1 Production Part Container Label Supplier shall label each production part container with current GM Location specific information transmitted in the shipping schedule (DELJIT). If Supplier receives a change in the GM Location specific information (e.g., Material Handling Code), Supplier shall update all labels within 3 days. 6.4.2 Sequenced Material Supplier shall ship sequenced part(s) and/or module(s) with the part number and/or sequence number displayed as required by the GM Location. When multiple part(s) are sequenced in a single container or rack, Supplier shall identify the beginning and ending broadcast sequence numbers on each shipping container or rack. Supplier shall ship sequenced part(s) and/or module(s) with the part number and/or sequence number displayed as required by the GM Location. Supplier shall individually mark each part in accordance with the GM1737. Supplier shall place the label in a discreet location so that once installed on the vehicle, it is not visible to the retail customer. 7 ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS Supplier must comply with General Motors Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) communication requirements for sending and receiving electronic information. EDI is a mandatory requirement for doing business with GM. In addition, suppliers that have GM facilities as a tier N must comply with the additional requirements listed in 7.4. Electronic Communication Yes No Comments 17 Suppliers must comply with General Motors Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) communication requirements for sending and receiving electronic information. EDI is a mandatory requirement for conducting business with GM. As per GM1700, Section 7. Have you met the EDI requirements as a supplier to GM? Have you met the EDI requirements as a customer to an MFD facility? Have you been tested by GM GEC? Inventory Control Yes No Comments 18 Are processes established to manage inventory rotation (I.e. FIFO), and levels at your manufacturing site? Please comment. Total Cost Reduction Suggestions Yes No Comments 19 Award decisions are based on QSTP (Quality, Service, Technology, Price). The “P” portion is figured based on Total Cost. Total Cost = Material Cost(your quote)+Supply Chain Costs (Applicable Import Customs and Duties, Transportation, Warehousing Repack & Labeling, Inventory Carrying Cost, Container Investment etc. ). Do you have any suggestions that could reduce the Total Cost? 20 Do you have any alternative Manufacturing locations that could be considered to reduce Total Cost? *Note: All new suppliers to GM are required to provide a signed copy of this document to the buyer at the time of sourcing recommendation.
