Its about different foods and drinks. 1. a cold drink, young people like it, it gives you energy, but there is too much sugar, it can make you fat (Coke)2. it is sweet and brown (chocolate)3. a hot drink, Chinese like drinking it without anything in it (tea)4. this animal lives in water, its meat can make you cleverer (fish)5. it is round and sweet, you usually eat it at the Mid-Autumn Festival (mooncake)6. a yellow fruit, it tastes sour (lemon)Step 2: Finish off Part ARead the words above, then write them in Part A, read again.Answers: 1-Coke, 2-chocolate, 3-tea, 4-fish, 5-mooncake, 6-lemon.Step 3: Practice (Part B)Show the pictures in Part B to students, ask them to make up a conversation in pairs.A: What is it? / What are they?B: Its milk. / They are mangoes.A: What kind of food is it?B: Its a kind of vegetable / fruit / sweet snack / meat / drink.Then ask the students to put the food into the correct groups in the table of Part B.Answers: vegetables-carrots, tomatoes, cabbage; fruit-lemons, mangoes; meat-beef, pork; sweet snacks-mooncakes, chocolate; drink-milk, juice.Step 4: Extension activityAsk students to look at PPT. and put them into the proper groups.Step 5: Additional exerciseOdd-One-OutIn each row, which word doesnt belong? One student thinks of a food. The other students ask one question at a time and try to guess what food the student is thinking of. Is it a kind of fruit / vegetable / meat / ? Is it sweet / sour / round / yellow / ?The student who answers the questions can only say yes or no.Step 7: SummaryT: In this period, weve learned the names of different foods.
