(10分)(2016广州)阅读理解。CGetting electricity has always been a problem for the 173 people living in Nuevo Saposoa, a small village in Peru, South America. However, things went from bad to worse in March 2015 after heavy rains damaged the only power cables in the area. The villagers were forced to use oil lamps, which are not only expensive but also dangerous because of the harmful gases they produce.Luckily, researchers at the University of Technology (UT) in Lima, Peru heard about their problem and found a wonderful solution. They made a lamp that can be powered by plants and soil, both of which can be easily found in the Amazonian rainforest where the village lies. The lamp takes energy from a plant growing in a wooden box and uses it to light up an LED light bulb. While that may sound amazing and even impossible, the science behind the ides is quite simple. As plants create their food (using the suns energy, water and chemicals from the soil), they also produce waste which they return to the soil. Tiny animals in the soil eat this waste and they produce electrons the building blocks of electrical energy. The UT team put special sticks inside the soil to capture the energy and keep it in the lamps batteries for later use. The researchers say a single charge can power a 50-watt Led light for two hours - enough time for local villagers to get their evening work done. The university gave ten Plant Lamps to the villagers of Nuevo Saposoa in October 2015. So far, they have been a huge success! Elmer Ramirez, the UT professor who invented the lamp, believes the Plant Lamp could help improve the lives of many people, especially small rainforest communities, 42% of whom have no electricity.(1)What are the problems of oil lamps according to Paragraph 1?A . (5分)阅读短文,根据要求完成下面各小题。China had one of the earliest civilizations(文明) in the world. We know the Chinese had a written language as early as 1500 BC. You can see that Chinese writing is very different from the writing in other countries. The Chinese use a different character for each word. People in many countries have to learn only 26 letters but people in China have to memorize about 600 characters before they can do even basic reading and writing.A man in China, named Confucius(孔子), was teaching the people of China what they should and should not do. He was a great wise man. His teachings filled several books and became a way of life for the Chinese, and many other people in Asia. Confucius taught that people should listen to their kings, and also that rulers should take care of their people. He taught people to listen to their parents and teachers and to be kind to others. He said, “Dont do to others what you would not want others to do to you.”Many inventions were made and used in China before the rest of the world even heard of them. By 600 AD the Chinese had invented printing. After a few centuries, they made the compass, which was a great help to sailors. A compass can tell north from south. The Chinese were the first to discover how to make explosive powder(火药).From all this, you can see that the Chinese were very busy making things that the rest of the world found really exciting and helpful when people learnt about them.根据短文简要回答问题;将短文中划线的句子译成汉语;请给短文拟一个适当的标题。(1)What was Confuciuss opinion about children and parents?_(2)How many inventions are mentioned in the passage?_(3)将短文中划线的句子译成汉语。_(4)将短文中划线的句子译成汉语。_(5)请给短文拟一个适当的标题。_7. (5分)阅读短文,完成句子A bookstore chain(连锁书店), “Popular Bookmall(大众书局)” introduced their unique style of book distribution(分布) in Shanghai back in November. This experimental store offers books at very low prices, and there is no staff(职员) to require shoppers to pay before taking books away. Sounds like a book lovers paradise(天堂)!Popular Bookmall had already set up such a shop in Nanjing. The organizers of the Nanjing store report that it was a great success, enough shoppers voluntarily paid for their books. But most older “honesty stores” in China did not receive enough honest shoppers. For example, a shelf-service restaurant opened in Fujian province years ago which allowed shoppers to pay whatever they chose, but about one fifth of shoppers paid nothing. Therefore some people have speculated(推断) that Chinese are becoming more honest. The organizers of the “honesty stores” say that their goal is to encourage people in China to remember how important honesty is.Many are cared about dishonesty in China. Even at Popular Bookmall, not everybody choose to pay for their books. How can we encourage ourselves to be honest? We should listen to our conscience(道德心). This has deep roots in Chinese culture. Confucius(孔子) taught Chinese to be conscientious and honest. But there is also a great rational(合理的) reason for “honesty stores”: the more honest people there are in society, the more reasons we have to trust others. And if people trusted each other, theyd be more willing to share. We could contribute to a “sharing economy” where you do not have to think about saving or spending money all the time, but helping other people. For all these reasons, society is built on trust, not only trade.阅读以上信息,用恰当的单词完成下面的句子,每空一词。(1)Shoppers can buy _ books in the experimental store in Shanghai than other shops. (2)Nanjing has already_ set up a bookmall where shoppers can pay for their books voluntarily.
