Well, it is a big question that you always ask yourself. There is no short cut to success, which is the first thing you should remember. For this reason you have to study hard first of all. Besides, here are some tips for you. Never fear or hate exams and be confident. Some students study well but still may be afraid of exams and due to this reason they wont be able to get good marks. So leave all your fears behind and free your mind before starting your studies. You have to be confident and it is the most important thing for attaining victory.Prepare a good timetable. Prepare a timetable before starting your studies. This should include all subjects, but tough subjects can be given more time while easier ones less. And remember some time shall be spared for entertainment and also there should be enough break time between each subject. Select a proper atmosphere for studying. No need to explain this point. Can anyone study well while watching TV? So select a place where you feel fortable and can concentrate. And importantly it is better to study early in the morning when you will have quiet surroundings and you can concentrate more. Make notes while studying. This is a very important point. Make small notes while studying can help you remember all the points. It will work better if you use these notes for revision in the last one or two hours than you skip through pages of your textbook. It wont take much time to go through these notes. Write well. As we all know, the first impression is the best impression. So your handwriting affects your marks. Try to write neatly. If it is not good enough, dont worry; if you present it in a good manner you can score more marks.1Which proverb can show the writers attitude towards our studies?A. No pains, no gains. B. One of my earliest memories is standing without shoes in the freshly tilled(翻耕的) soil, my hands blackened from digging in the ground. As a child, I loved following Dad around in the garden. I remember Dad pushing the tiller(耕作机) ahead in perfectly straight lines. Dad loved growing all sorts of things yellow and green onions, watermelons almost as big as me, rows of yellow corn, and our favoritered tomatoes. As I grew into a teenager, I didnt get so excited about gardening with Dad. Instead of magical land of possibility, it had turned into some kind of prison. As Dad grew older, his love for gardening never disappeared. After all the kids were grown and had started families of their own, Dad turned to gardening like never before. Even when he was diagnosed with cancer, he still took care of his garden. But then, the cancer, bit by bit, invaded his body. I had to do the things he used to do. What really convinced me that Dad was dying was the state of his garden that year. The rows and rows of multicolored vegetables were gone. Too tired to weed them, he simply let them be. He only planted tomatoes. For the first few years after he died, I couldnt even bear to look at anyones garden without having strong memories pour over me like cold water from a bucket. Three years ago, I decided to plant my own garden and started out with just a few tomatoes. That morning, after breaking up a fair amount of soil, something caught the corner of my eye and I had to smile. It was my eight-year-old son Nathan, happily playing in the freshly tilled soil.4. Why did the author like the garden when he was a child?A. He wanted to be a garden-crazy like his father.B. He loved being in the garden with his father.C. The garden was full of his favorite food.D. The garden was just freshly tilled.5. When all the kids started their own families, the authors father _.A. stopped his gardening. B. turned to other hobbies.C. devoted more to gardening. D. focused on planting tomatoes 6. What happened to the garden when the authors father was seriously ill?A. There was a great harvest. B. The garden was almost deserted. C. No plant grew in the garden at all. D. The authors son took charge of the garden.7. Why did the author start his garden with tomatoes?A. He wanted to honor his father. B. His son liked the fields of tomatoes.C. He only knew how to grow tomatoes. D. He thought tomatoes were easy to manage.CDear John, My name is Amber and I want to share my story with you because what youve shared about life and positive energy has changed my life. In January, after two years of being together, my boyfriend left me. I read your blog every morning as I drink my coffee at work, but it wasnt until this March that I told myself no more negativity as you taught readers in your blog. Since then Ive got into new habits at work to keep my energy positive. When people walk in the front door, Im the first face they see, so I smile big when I say good morning to them, especially on Mondays. Instead of waiting for someone to ask me for help, I offer it with an open mind. The CEO noticed my change and offered me the executive assistant position that I wanted. One of the biggest things Ive taken to heart from your blog is changing my opinions on my job. Yes, it was not an important position, but when I was passionate (热情的) about it, I could make my life fulfilling. All in all, I have to thank you somehow for having the passion to help others because it truly is inspiring to me. So thank you so much, John. Well, let me give you advice on having a healthy and possibly long-term relationship. 16 Do not hide things from them, do not lie. Dont be afraid to say things that arent very flattering about yourself. Getting them to trust you is the most important element in any relationship. If theres no trust, theres nothing there. So please be honest and theyll learn to open up to you. Make sure you give them respect. Now respect isnt just simply treating her or him nicely. Theres a lot more to it. Make them feel you are someone they can really count on and build a future with. This is an important step in a relationship. Your partner has to be able to count on you when needed. Make sure you have a good sense of humor with them. Laughter is the key to happiness. Laugh a lot with them, joke with them. Laughter may seem silly, but its the secret to a lot in life. It will keep the sparks alive. 19 Make sure the munication is good. This goes along with trust, but always municate how you feel, even if it s something that upsets you.
