2019-2020年八年级英语Unit 3 A day out I (III)Teaching aims: 1. Use vocabulary to identify and describe well-known places in Beijing and around the world. 2. Use nouns or noun phrases to talk about some means of transport. Teaching procedures1.Warming-up exercises. Follow the following steps.vSince the places in Beijing are too far away from us, we can ask Ss to talk about the places of interest in Nanjing first. So we can bring a map of Nanjing into the class. By using the map, we can help them to understand more about the means of transport.vFree talk: If you want to go to, how can you go there?vIf there is no bus or train, what can you do?1. Revise the keywords in the sentences, e.g., beautiful, enjoy, the Eiffel Tower, the pyramids, the Golden Gate Bridge, interesting ,the coach to make sure students have not forgotten their meanings.2. Some notes.(1) take a taxi around the centre of Beijingtake a taxi 乘出租车;打的“take a (the) +交通工具名词”表示交通方式。如:take a bus, take a ship, take a plane;但“骑自行车”用 ride a bike表示;“乘飞机”用 by plane,也可用 fly to表示;“乘(驾)小汽车”用 drive a car表示。Will you a bus to go there?You can my bike to the meeting.Father often his car to work.Can you a train to go there?The famous singer to New York once a month.a.“by+交通工具名词”。此时交通工具名词只能用单数,不能用复数,也不能被冠词或物主代词等修饰。如: by bike, by bus, by coach, by underground, by car, by train, by ship, by plane等。b.“by+交通路线的位置”。如by sea (=by ship), by air (=by plane)等。c.“in(on)+交通工具名词”。此时交通工具名词前必须有冠词、名词所有格形式或形容词物主代词等限定词修饰。d.“步行去某地”:go +to +sp +on foot; walk to +某地(2) around是介词,意为“在周围,环绕”。如:There are a lot of trees and flowers around our school.round 与aroundround和around是兼类词,兼作副词和介词,有“周围,围绕”的意思。round 是英国用法,around是美国用法。如:The dog looks round (around) and run away. (round和around为副词)Next year they will travel round (around) the world. (round和around为介词)4. Look at the pictures on Page 40.5. Part B is a problem-solving task and students need to use their existing knowledge of Beijing to do it. Bringing in a map of Beijing may be useful.6. Ask students to do the task in pairs. Then ask students in a pair to pare their answers with another pair.
