阅读理解“I love you” might be one of the most important binations in the English language. Its the signal that a romantic relationship is serious,an indication of closeness for a sibling(兄弟姐妹),parent,or child. But the way its used in China might be a little different. The Global Times reports that two online videos showing children telling their parents “I love you” have gone viral(火了起来) in China. The first shows a number of college students telling their parents they love them. The responses are mixed.“Are you drunk?” asked one parent. In another similar video,a father responded even less politely“I am going to a meeting,so cut_the_crap”Even the positive reactions make it clear that the words are expressed rarely:“I am so happy you called to say that,it is the happiest thing that happened to me,” one parent answered. This isnt the first time that China has done some soul searching about familiar lovelast year China Daily asked a crosssection of people if they said “I love you” to their parents, spouses(爱人),and children.“I have never said I love you to my family, and I dont think I will in the future,” one 56yearold told the paper.“Saying it aloud is embarrassing for me.”Still, that doesnt mean that love cant be expressed. In a separate article,China Daily spoke to Zhao Mengmeng,a 31yearold woman who said she had never told her father she loved him face to face. She said,“I find it a bit odd.”Mrs.Zhao gave her father a photo album featuring photographs of them together on almost every one of her birthdays. The pictures went viral online, being forwarded hundreds of thousands of times on Weibo.“I didnt sleep the night I heard about it,” her father told China Daily after the story attracted mainstream attention.“I have now memorized some of the ments on the collection of pictures.”【语篇解读】“I love you”恐怕是英语中最重要的单词组合之一。 1What did the father want to express by using the underlined words?AMake a long story short!BJust shut up!CTalk about it later!DForget about it! 由第一段最后一句“But the way its used in China might be a little different”可知,“我爱你”这句话在中国的用法可能有点儿不同。 2What can we learn from the two online videos?AChinese children hate saying the three words to their parents.BMany Chinese parents respond strangely to the three words.CThe three words bee more and more popular in China.DChinese people are rather slow in understanding others. 3What does the example of Zhao Mengmeng show?AMicroblog is the best way to express oneself.BIt is a fashion to express love on microblog.CLove can be expressed in other ways.DIt is hard to express love in public. 作者在文章中举赵女士的例子就是为了佐证第五段的主题句“Still, that doesnt mean that love cant be expressed”,也就是为了说明可以用其他方式表达爱。4What does the passage mainly talk about?AThe words “I love you” are rarely used in China.BChinese people refuse to express their love to others.CChinese people use different ways to express their love.DThe words “I love you” result in misunderstanding in China. Since I was 12 years old,Ive suffered from a
