As was reported, Saddam was caught alive. it 所构成的强调句型，历年来久考不衰。如： It was driving the car carelessly that cost him his life. 正是粗心开车使他丧了命。（强调句子的主语 driving the car carelessly） 此句型要注意和 it 代表时间、距离、温度、自然现象等时所构成的各种句型的区别。试比较：,It was on March 1 that I had my hair cut.（强调句） It was March 1 when I had my hair cut.（后面是定语从句） 判断是否强调句，可采用“还原法”。如还原一般句式后，句子各种成分完整，则是强调句，否则不是。如第一句可还原成： I had my hair cut on March 1 。 还要注意和 It issince 句型的区别。此句型主句通常用一般现在时或现在完成时，时间状语从句用一般过去时。而强调句和其他句式都要求前后时态一致。如：,It was two years ago _ I joined the army.
