When class begins, T asks Ss the name of the song and leads Ss to the topic.Pre-reading( 7 minutes)1. T tests Ss knowledge about the Olympic Games with a quiz which includes 8 questions. T calls several Ss to answer these questions.2. T invites one student to draw an Olympic flag on the blackboard.3. T plays a video for Ss.Reading( 21 minutes)1.Skimming(2 minutes): T asks Ss to read the background knowledge and answer three questions.2.Scanning( 14 minutes):T asks Ss to scanthe interview and find out the similarities and differences between the ancient and modern Olympic Games.when time is up, T calls some Ss to say the similarities and differences.3.Slide show:( 5 minutes) T helps Ss sum up the similarities and differences. T gives the reference answers.Post-reading( 9 minutes)1. T or F:( 6 minutes) T shows Ss nine sentences and let Ss judge whether these sentences are true of false. T should give the correct answer.2.
