One day while she was walking in the woods she found two starving songbirds. She took them home and put them in a small cage, caring them with love. Luckily, the birds grew strong little by little. Every morning they greeted her with a wonderful song. The girl felt great love for the birds. One day the girl left the door to the cage open accidentally. The larger and stronger of the two birds flew from the cage. The girl was so frightened that he would fly away. So as he flew close, she grasped him wildly. Her heart felt glad at her success in capturing him. Suddenly, she felt the bird go weak, so she opened her hand and stared in horror at the dead bird. It was her desperate love that had killed him.She noticed the other bird moving back and forth on the edge of the cage. She could feel his strong desireneeding to fly into the clear, blue sky. Unwillingly, she lifted him from the cage and threw him softly into the air. The lucky bird circled once, twice, three times. The girl watched delightedly at the bird. Her heart was no longer concerned with her loss. What she wanted to see was that the bird could fly happily. Suddenly the bird flew closer and landed softly on her shoulder. He sang the sweetest tune that she had ever heard.Remember, the fastest way to lose love is to hold on it too tight; the best way to keep love is to give it wings!【语篇解读】本文是一篇夹叙夹议文。 1After the girl found the two birds, she _Abecame frightened at onceBbegan to treat them badlyCgreeted them happilyDfed them and raised themD解析:细节理解题。根据题干关键词two birds,找到与之对应的是文章第一段中的“she found two starving songbirds. She took them home and put them in a small cage, caring them with love.” D。2Why did the girl grasp the stronger bird wildly?ABecause the girl disliked the bird any longer.BBecause the bird wanted to fly alone.CBecause the girl loved the bird deeply.DBecause the bird intended to find some food.C解析:推理判断题。根据题干中的关键词grasp the stronger bird wildly找到对应句是第二段的第三句“The girl was so frightened that he would fly away.” C。3What can we learn from the passage?ACatch what you can catch on your way to success.BGoing too far is as bad as not going far enough.CEast or west, home is best.DA bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.B解析:推理判断题。 B(2016太原模拟) Washington: NASA has announced evidence that Jupiters largest moon, Ganymede, has a saltwater ocean under its icy surface. The ocean seems to have more water than all the water on Earths surface, according to new Hubble observations.New Hubble observations of Ganymedes magnetic field strongly suggest that the moon, which is the largest in our whole solar system, is home to a subsurface ocean.Scientists estimate the ocean is 95 kilometres thick, which is about 10 times deeper than Earths oceans. But unlike our salty waters, Ganymedes ocean is buried under 150 kilometres of ice. While scientists have speculated(推测) since 1970s about the presence of an ocean on Ganymedethe largest moon in our solar systemuntil now the only observational evidence came from a brief flyby by the Galileo spacecraft, which didnt observe the moon long enough to confirm a liquid ocean. This discovery marks an important milestone, highlighting what only Hubble can accomplish. In its 25 years in orbit, Hubble has made many scientific discoveries in our own solar system. A deep ocean under the icy surface of Ganymede opens up further exciting possibilities for life beyond Earth.Scientists_have_already_confirmed_the_existence_of_an_ocean_on_Europe,_another moon orbiting Jupiter, and NASA has announced plans to send an unmanned mission there searching for the life that might come with liquid water.Hubble is a telescope that orbits Earth, but because of its impressive gravitational analyses it can be used to study the inside of far distant planets. Using these same principles, scientists could theoretically detect oceans on distant planets as well.【语篇解读】这是一篇关于天文知识的新闻报道。 4What can we learn about the Ganymede from the passage?AIt is a planet with the largest moon in our whole solar system.BIts ocean adds to peoples excitement about life beyond Earth.CIt will be used by NASA as a base for the Hubble telescope.DIts liquid ocean was first proved by the Galileo spacecraft.B解析:细节理解题。根据第五段中“A deep ocean under the icy surface of Ganymede opens up further exciting possibilities for life beyond Earth.” B。5Which of the following best describes the writers attitude towards Hubble?ACautious.BDoubtful.CNegative. DFavorable.D解析:推理判断题。A.Cautious谨慎的;B.Doubtful怀疑的;C.Negative否定的;D.Favorable支持的。根据第五段中“This discovery marks an important milestone, highlighting what only Hubble can accomplish.” D。6What does the underlined part in Paragraph 6 mean?AAn underground ocean has been found in Europe.BThe presence of an underground ocean in Europe is not possible.CIt is now certain that there is an ocean on Europe.DNo evidence has shown the existence of an ocean on Europe.C解析:句意理解题。通过横线句子中的“confirmed the existence” 和下文“NASA has announced plans to send an unmanned mission there searching for the life that might come with liquid water.” C。7What type of writing does this passage belong to?AA term essay. BA news report.CAn experiment report. A.A term essay一个学期论文;B.A news report一个新闻报道;C.An experiment report一个实验报告;D.An exploration review一个探索评论。通过第一段“Washington: NASA has announced evidence.” C(2016齐鲁名校第一次调研) Can you believe your eyes?A recent experiment suggests that the answer to that question may depend on your age. Martin Doherty, a psychologist at the University of Stirling in Scotland, led the team of scientists. In this experiment, Doherty and his team tested the perception(观察力)of some people, using pictures of some orange circles. The researchers showed the same pictures to two groups of people. The first group included 151 children aged 4 to 10, and the second group included 24 adults aged 18 to 25. The first group of pictures showed two orange circles alone on a white background. One of the circles was larger than the other, and these people were asked to identify the larger one. Fouryearolds identified the correct circle 79 percent of the time. Adults identified the correct circle 95 percent of the time. Next, both groups were shown pictures where the orange circles, again of different sizes, were surrounded by gray circles. Heres where the trick lies. In some of the pictures, the smaller orange circle was surrounded by even smaller gray circlesmaking the orange circle appear larger than the other orange circle, which was the real larger one. And the larger orange circle was surrounded by even bigger gray circlesso it appeared to be smaller than the real smaller orange circle. When young children aged 4 to 6 looked at these tricky pictures, they werent fooledthey were still able to find the bigger circle with roughly the same accuracy as before. Older children and adults, on the other hand, did not do as well. Older children often identified the smaller circle as the larger one, and adults got it wrong most of the time. As children get older, Doherty said, their brains may develop the ability to identify visual context. In other words, they will begin to process the whole picture at once: the tricky gray circles, as well as the orange circle in the middle. As a result, theyre more likely to fall for this kind of visual trick. 8Doherty and his team of scientists did an experiment to evaluate_Achildrens and adults eyesightBpeoples ability to see accuratelyCchildrens and adults brainsDthe influence of peoples ageB解析:细节理解题。根据第二段第二句“In this experiment, Doherty and his team tested the perception(观察力)of some people,”可知答案为B。9When asked to find the larger circle, _Achildren at 6 got it wrong 79% of the time with no gray ones aroundBonly adults over 18 got it right 95% of the time with gray ones aroundCchildren at 4 got it right about 79% of the time with gray ones aroundDadults got it right most of the time with gray ones aroundC解析:细节理解题。 10According to the passage, we can know that_Aa smaller orange circle appears bigger on a white backgroundBan orange circle appears bigger than a gray one of the same sizeCa circle surrounded by other circles looks bigger than its real sizeDa circle surrounded by bigger ones looks smaller than its real sizeD解析:推理判断题。根据第四段整体的理解和本段最后一句“And the larger orange circle was surrounded by even bigger gray circlesso it appeared to be smaller than the real smaller orange circle.” 11Why are younger children not fooled?ABecause they are smarter than older children and adults.BBecause older people are influenced by their experience.CBecause peoples eyes become weaker as they grow older.DBecause their brain can hardly notice related things together.D解析:推理判断题。 D(2016长春质检)Welcome to bestwigs. org! Visitors can touch young sharks, see their eggs develop and watch a dozen different species swim smoothly around a huge tank. Most people fail to realize that attacks dont happen very often. Humans are more likely to be killed by lightning than by a shark. 17._There, kids can learn, from an early age, not to fear sharks. “People fear what they dont know,” said Nancy Hotchkiss, an organizer of the exhibition. “Sharks have been around for 400 million years and play an important role in the oceans food chain. We want people to discover that sharks are amazing animals that need our respect and protection.”18_A study, published in January in the US magazine, Science, found that almost all recorded shark species have fallen by half in the past 8 to 15 years.Thousands of sharks are hunted in Asia for special foods, such as shark fin (鱼翅) soup. And many others get caught in nets, while fishermen are hunting other fish. 19._“Some fishing methods are actually cleaning out the ocean for sharks,” said Dave Schofield, the manager of the aquariums ocean health program. 20._AThey can watch them develop inside their eggs and feel the skin of the older swimmers.BA shocking 100 million sharks are killed every year around the world by humans.CIn fact, 94 percent of the worlds 400 species are harmless to humans.DIt is a worrying situation and some areas have put measures in place to protect these special fish.EAnd to make this point clear, the museum has set up a special touching pool for children.FMore than half of the sharks caught are smaller than one meter long.GSharks can smell and taste blood, and trace it back to its source. (2016济宁一模)Once upon a time, a student was in a physics class.
