A I went to a nearby car factory today with my uncle, who works there. One thing I noticed was that most of the work was done by robots(机器人). Welding (焊接), painting, testing and many other jobs are performed by robots. The whole dashboard (仪表板) is put into a car by a robot. It would have taken two men to do so in the past, and it would have hurt their backs quite a bit. It got me thinking: Is it a good thing that robots are replacing factory workers? On the one hand, robots generally do a more accurate job than people. They are not likely to make many mistakes. If something goes wrong with one car, an alarm goes off. They do exactly the same thing every time, but a human worker is unable to do so. On the other hand, robots reduce costs for companies. Companies dont have to pay robots wages or injury compensation (补偿) if theyre broken. If something in a robot does go wrong, it wont have to take time off work for a year, or even forever, as could happen to a real person if he breaks his back or burns himself while welding. The obvious downside is that robots increase unemployment rate, which in turn increases taxes. We dont want to pay for those who are out of work just because a company has replaced them with robots. 21. We can learn from the first paragraph that _.A. all the workers have been replaced by robots B. robots do most of the work in the car factory C. there are no workers with back strain now D. the authors uncle designs robots in the factory22. The second paragraph is mainly about _. A. the authors experience in a car factory B. the advantages of robots over human workersC. the advantages of human workers over robots D. the management of factory workers23. The underlined word “downside” in the last paragraph means _.A. And you, come along too!” He said to the other man.“But sir, I have a wife with six children!”The second man answered.“Bring them as well!”They all climbed into the car, which was no easy task, even for a car as large as the limo, Once underway, one of the poor fellow said,“Sir, you are too kind. Thank you for taking all of us with you.”The rich man replied,“No, you dont understand, the grass at my home is about two meters tall!”24. The rich man was . Surely, there are times when we need to be alone. We dont always want people around. But we would feel lonely if we never had a friend. No two people are the same. Sometimes friends dont get along well, which doesnt mean that they no longer like each other. Most of the time they will go on being friends. Sometimes friends move away, then we feel very sad. We miss them much, but we can call them and write to them. Maybe we would never see them again, and we can make new friends. It is surprising to find out how much we like new people when we get to know them. Families sometimes name (以.命名)their children after a close friend. Many places are named after men and women, if they are friendly to people in a town. Some libraries are named this way. So are some schools. We think of these people when we go to these places.Theres more good news for people, if they have friends. These people live longer than those people if those dont have friends. Why? It could be that they are happier. Being happy helps you stay well. Or it could be just knowing that someone cares, if someone cares about you, you take better care of yourself.32. Half a month passed quickly after I knew it, and I learned how to deal with different people.Above all, I have learned that smile is the key to solve any problem. pull out拉/拖/拔出;put out放/伸出,生产;pick out摘/剔/挖出/啄/挑出;press out强使分离; 压出。 head to朝着方向去;turn to转向,求助于;change to变成,换上(衣服等);move to迁/移至。 help sb.(to) do sth帮助某人做;have sb. do sth叫/派/让某人做;watch sb. do sth注视/监视某人做;let sb. do sth让某人做.49D逻辑推理词汇用法 作者不是很喜欢工作,但作者喜欢工作能够让他拥有的一切。ask/tell/ allow sb. to do sth要求/告诉/允许某人做某事, 这种结构,ask, tell的主语通常为人, allow的主语可为人或物;promise sb. to do sth答应某人(自己)会做某事,其主语也通常为人。 61. and 62. felt 63. out 64. gone 65.it 66. to follow 67.
