Unit 8 When is your birthday?Section A(1a-2d)【教材分析】本课是新目标英语八年级上册第8单元,教材以 when is your birthday?为中心话题,学习用月份和序数词描述日期,让学生会询问别人的生日。本课教学内容与学生的实际生活密切相关,易于引发学生运用简单的英语进行交际和交流。【学情分析】在小学五年级时,学生就已学习了12个月份,学生基本掌握了12月份的读法,为本单元的活动做了很好的铺垫工作。另外,谈论生日是学生日常生活中既熟悉又感兴趣的话题,激发了学生开口说英语的欲望,充分调动学生学习的积极性。【教学目标】一、语言知识目标:1、 学习日期表达方法(月份、日期)2、 学会谈论自己、同学及家人的生日3、 掌握月份及序数词new words: when, month, January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, , November, December, happy, first, second, third, fifth, eighth, ninth, twelfth, twentieth二、语言技能目标:能用“when”questions来谈论自己、同学及家人的生日三、情感态度目标:学会关心他人,做一个有细心有爱心的人【教学重难点】1、教学重点(1) 词汇: when, month, January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, , November, December, happy, first, second, third, fifth, eighth, ninth, twelfth, twentieth(2) 句型-When is your birthday? - My birthday is on May 2nd./Its on May 2nd.- When is Alices birthday? -Her birthday is on topic: birthday2、教学难点(1)12个月份会读并读准确(2)序数词的变化及2nd, 3rd, 5th的读音三、教学步骤Teachers activitiesStudents activitiesPurposesI. Lead-in and presentation1、 Enjoy a month song and greeting.2、 Let Ss read after the tape,then by themselves.3、 Let Ss have a challenge.4、 Present ordinal numbers one by one, by the sentence “ The 1st month of the years is January.”5、 Explain ordinal numbers and let Ss read after the tape, then talk about the rules1、Enjoy the song and review the months2、Ss read the months.3、See the picture and speak the months quickly.4、Ss get to know the meaning of the ordinal numbers and how to read from 1-12. Ss read 12 ordinal numbers.5、Ss read the ordinal numbers and get to know the rules.以轻快的歌曲引入,歌曲是关于12月份的单词,简洁明了,直入主题。接着直接教授12个月份的单词,学生跟磁带读这几个单词。随后让学生快速看日历并说出月份作为对学生的再次检测。然后在复习单词时引入序数词,让学生猜测几个序数词的词义。在这里学生对序数词有个大致的了解。II. Listening and practice1、 Present some festivals, ask Ss “when is ?”2、 Talk about teachers birthday, then ask Ss “when is your birthday?”3、 Listen and number the conversations.4、 Let Ss read after the tape and practice the three conversations.5、 Mr. Smith asks his Ss about their birthdays, and when are they? First circle the numbers, then match the months and dates.1、 Answer “Its on”2、 Do pairwork, ask classmates about their birthdays.3、 Listen and number the conversations.4、 Read after the tape and work in pairs.5、Ss do the listening.通过对节日日期的回答,引出when引导的特殊疑问句,让学生对when这个词有大致的了解。接着学生做听力,可以根据名字或月份很快做出排序,然后跟磁带读,这里跟读主要是让学生读对几个序数词。如有错误,及时更正。随后图片呈现2b,学生完成听力,完成2c后让学生试着说出 “s birthday is on ”, 完成对4个人的复数,在此为下面的report 打下基础。III. ExtensionDo a surveyAsk one student to interview their group members “ when is your birthday?” then do a report.The group of the leader write the birthdays and try to give a report.本课主要是听说课,让学生问一下身边的人的生日,学会关系人,学会感恩。IV. Section A(1a-2d) 初中英语青年教师研修班活动在沿江中学举行。我很荣幸能和另外两位老师在这次活动中向同行们展示自己的课堂教学过程。这次上了公开课之后,我感觉自己受益匪浅。从备课到课堂教学过程中,我发现自己存在许多不足。现作如下反思:一、成功之处:1.备课之前,教学目标定位准确,本课为听说课,主要是希望学生能听,能认读并且能说;了解学生学情,掌握学生对月份的了解情况;跟读录音熟悉文本,花大量时间、精力“吃透”文本。2.备课中,紧紧围绕教学目标层层展开教学步骤。本课重点是月份,序数词及句型“ when is your birthday?”及其回答。我从月份着手,帮学生复习,并了解他们对月份的掌握程度;呈现序数词的基本规律,并让学生掌握几个不一样写法与读法的序数词。3.教学过程中,比较注意单词的正确发音,特别是twentieth与thirtieth。二、不足之处:1. 内容定位不准确。本课时教学是从第一人称到第三人称,所以应该定位到2c就足够了。2. 板书设计不够周到。板书有与教学目标不相符的内容,回答“when is your fathers birthday?” 我用了“my fathers birthday is on”, 这显然不符合教学内容;名词所有格的书写不够显眼,这是本课的重点,应该用彩色粉笔突出。3. 音标处理不够全面。虽然我考虑到了序数词的一些发音,但是我没有注意到月份里面的重度音节,重度音节是音标学习的一个重要内容,应该让学生多接触并掌握。4. 过渡语不够简洁。在每一个环节的过渡阶段,我都没有衔接好,甚至有些地方就没有衔接语,比如说在2a这个听力里面,我直接呈现图片,并说“Look, this is Mr. Smith. He wants to know their birthdays.”5. 活动设计不够周到。本来建立一个生日档案是一个很好的活动,主要是为了检测学生对日期是否掌握了,但是由于没有仔细地去考虑设计,使活动失去了部分作用。三、结束语通过此次上课,我收获颇多。其实有不足不可怕,可怕的是没有认识到自己的不足,相信通过每一次反思与改进,我可以走得更远。
