Teaching Procedures Step 1 lead -in Before the class, let the students listen to the music(“Happy birthday”), After this, ask the students to watch the e-card, this can guide to the new lesson and the target language. Step 2 while-task1. Presentation the main sentences: look at the flash and earn how to accept or refuse an invitation of foreign countries politely.A: Can you come to my party? B: Sure, Id love to. / Im sorry, I cant. I have to Drill: Show the “happy face” and “unhappy face” to practice these sentences. 2. Presentation the key phrases : Show some pictures on the screen and learn the phrases.have a piano lesson study for a test help my parents go to see the doctor visit my aunt Drill: 1. Read them again , try your best to remember. 2. Do the exercise in 1a. and then check the answer. 3. Make conversations like above with these phrases.(1c) 3. Presentation the listening: (1) 1b 2a 2b First let the students read the dialogue in the picture. Then listen to it. (This activity provides guided oral practice using the target language). After the listening practice, ask the student to practice some invitations and refusals. Drill: Pairwork : 2c Practice: Task 2 “历史新编:三顾茅庐” Everybody knows the story in SanGuo Time that Liu Bei visited Zhu Geliang repeatedly and finally persuaded him for helping. Now lets imagine, if you were Liu Bei, what would be your story between you and your partner Zhu Geliang in modern times, how would you persuade him to help you?The prizes of best performances and creations will be given to top ones Step 3 ( Culture notes ) When you are in foreign countries, you should know whether an invitation is a real invitation. If you are invited, but not given a specific time, this is not a real invitation. For example, “Why not have dinner some day?” You mustnt ask when you can come. Its not polite. This is a real invitation: “ Can you come to my birthday party on Saturday night? When you are asked this way, you should only say: “Yes, Id love to”. Or “sorry, I cant. I have to ” and give him or her your reason. Step 4 Pro-task1. Sum up: (1) Some key vocabulary and the target language. (2) How to invite somebody and how to refuse an invitation politely.2. Do some exercise.3. Homework: Make an invitation card. And give it to your favorite friend in the class. Selected the most popular one.
