(站定后) Good morning, everyone! (用指向自己的肢体语言示意学生回答:Good morning, teacher!) In fact, my name is not “teacher”. You should call me M-a-d-a-m/S-i-r. 你们应该叫我什么?(如果有学生答出“Madam”或者”Sir”,马上给予表扬。)【表扬过程: Give me five. (如果学生不懂老师的意图)当老师说“Give me five”时,你就跟老师击掌,同时大喊“Yeah!” Once again! 再来一次。Give me five!Yeah! (然后换一个学生表扬,加强印象)】Now, Id like to ask you some questions. If you want to give me Yes-answer, please say “Yes, Madam/Sir.”我要问大家几个问题,如果大家想用“Yes”回答,请大家大喊“Yes, Madam.” OK?! (学生回答OK时,马上大声示范性纠正“Yes, Madam/Sir.” 学生不够high时,一定要带领学生大声喊“Yes, Madam/Sir.”,直到气氛起来为止。)The first question: Do you want to go around the world? 大家想环游世界吗?(引导学生说“Yes, Madam.”及时表扬)The second question: Do you think its important to learn English if you want to go around the world? 那么如果要环游世界,学习英语重不重要? (引导学生说“Yes, Madam/Sir.”及时表扬)Self-introduction & Cultural Difference in names.自我介绍环节人名的东西方差异:(通过名人的英语姓名引出东西方文化差异)Before I introduce myself, Id like to ask you about the English names of some famous stars from Taiwan and the Mainland of China.The first superstar is a pretty girl from Taiwan. She is a singer and good at dancing.第一位巨星是来自台湾的美女,她能歌善舞。 Can you guess who she is? 大家猜猜是谁? Great! Jolin Cai(蔡依林).Another superstar is also from Taiwan. 另外一位同样来自台湾的巨星。He is a great singer but he is not so handsome. 他是个超级歌星,只是长得不怎么帅。However, he is very cool! 但是他实在是酷毙了!Can you guess who I am talking about? Yes!Jay Chou(周杰伦)! (选择一名学员提问。)Whats your favorite song of his? 你最喜欢他的哪首歌曲?(无论对方说哪首歌曲,都可以附和说:) Great minds think alike! Thats also my favorite song! Yeah! Give me five! (与学生击掌,以示鼓励) 小插曲:英语成语 “Great minds think alike” 的学习。(目的:增加课堂的英语知识点,提升学生的成就感)Do you know such an English idiom: Great minds think alike? 大家听过这个成语没有?(此处打出PPT)When people agree on one thing or share a common interest, we would say “Great minds think alike.” 当人们对一件事看法相同或有同样爱好是,我们会说:“Great minds think alike.” 英雄所见略同!Now, follow me! “Great minds think alike.” (重复两次)(现场采访学生)Do you like KFC fast food? (无论学生如何回答,都大声附和道:) “Great minds think alike!” Do you like 李宇春? (无论学生如何回答,都大声附和道:) “Great minds think alike!”Great! Weve learned an English idiom. This is a bonus for today. 不错!今天我们学会了一个英语成语。这是今天的一个额外收获。(继续自我介绍)Last but not least, a very famous person from the mainland of China. 最后向大家隆重介绍的是来自中国大陆的一个大腕。 I am sure every one of you has met him/her.我确信大家都见过他/她的Can you guess who he/she is?大家猜猜他/她是谁?A big potato from Only English School!来自昂立外语学校的名人!Sometimes I find myself lovely. 我觉得自己有时候看起来还挺可爱的。Anyway, its me! Daniel Lee. 那就顺便自我介绍一下,我的英语名字是Daniel Lee.So far weve met 蔡依琳Jolin Cai, and周杰伦Jay Chou.Do you think these names sound a little bit strange? 大家是不是觉得中国人用英语名字叫起来有点怪怪的? Indeed. Chinese and Westerners name themselves quite differently. 的确,中国人和西方人取名方式大不相同。We Chinese respect our forefathers, 中国人自古尊重祖先, 所以中国人把家族的姓氏放在个人名字的前面;However, westerners value themselves much more, 而西方人比较崇尚自我,因此把个人名字(given name)放在家族姓氏(family name)前面!西方人个人的名字是老爸老妈给的,因此叫做“given name”,而家族的姓氏是全家人共有的,因此叫做“family name”。(此处带读“given name”和 “family name”。 带读“given name”时用双手做指向自己的手势,而带读“family name”时则用双手做向前摊开的手势,以帮助学生通过手势在后面的练习中记起每个手势所代表的“given name”和 “family name”。)OK. Lets take a look at some other idiomatic English names. 再给大家几个地道的英语名字。(下面的地道英语名字通过前面的手势引导学生说出各个名字的Given name和Family name。)As we all know, this is a famous NBA superstar, Michael Jordan. So, “Michael” is his Yes! Given name. And “Jordan” is his Great! Family name. (简单带读)Next is a famous singer from Canada. 下面是一位来自加拿大的著名女歌星。(此处打出Celine Dion的PPT,音乐自动响起。)Do you know her? No? Then, do you know this song? Yes! The song is My Heart Will Go On. Its her masterpiece. 这是这位女歌星的代表作:我心永恒。 Her name is Celine Dion. So, “Dion” is her Yes! Family name. And “Celine” is her Great! Given name. (简单带读)到底是有文化差异,老外的英语名字听起来硬是顺耳,而中国人取个英语名字叫起来就是那么别扭!尤其是直接用汉语的发音,但是用英语的习惯把姓和名颠倒更是滑稽可笑。Listen!Here I have a funny story to tell you. 给大家讲个中国人用英语作自我介绍的笑话。I have a friend and his name is 刘宏涛。His English is just so-so but he feels quite proud of himself. 他英语一般般,但是很自恋。One day, he met a foreigner in the street and said to him: “Hello! My name is Hongtao Liu”. To his surprise, the foreigner joked on him: “你好,红桃六!我是方片七。”听了这个笑话,大家可以体会到,学习英语不仅仅要读句子、啃语法、背单词,还要学习西方的文化背景知识,要懂得东西方文化上的差异。同样,我们要让老外记住我们,一定要给自己取个地道的西方的Given Name. 几个取英语名字的原则:一、不能叫自己Kitty或者Puppy,不能给自己取个小猫、小狗的动物名;二、不能叫自己Apple或者Banana,不能给自己取个“苹果”、“香蕉”的水果、蔬菜名;三、绝对不能用汉语的发音介绍自己的名字。我们“快乐男生”的那位令人恶心的女评委如果对老外说:Hello! My name is 羊二车娜姆。打死老外也记不住她的名字。二地道英语“How are you”的用法以及与倒背如流新概念的结合背诵:通过询问学生英语名字及问候“How are you”与学生进行互动:Pretty good! Now you have known my name. 好极了!大家已经认识我了。Now its my turn to get to know you.轮到我认识大家了!(逐个问候几个学生,目的是捕捉三个用”Im fine. Thank you”的学生。对于用其他方式正确回答的学生稍作表扬,马上略过。)Hello! Do you have an English name? How are you? (换人) Hi!May I know your family name? How are you? (换人)Hello!Whats your English name? (假使学生回答:My English name is “Fiona”) So, is Fiona your family name or given name? Good! How are you, Fiona?“How are you”的小笑话:看来今天大家心情都一般呀!基本上都说“I am fine. Thank you. And you?”. Here, Ill tell you a short funny story (or say a joke). 说到这里,我要跟同学们说一个有关”How are you”的小笑话。首先我用英语讲,大家尽量去理解,因为以后在昂立的课堂我们要求大家尽量用英语交流。Listen!One day, a Japanese man got seriously injured in a car accident in New York. An American rushed up to him and asked him caringly: “How are you?” With his last breath, the Japanese man replied: “I am fine. Thank you. And you?”(有一天,一个日本人很不幸,他出了车祸,伤得还挺重的,这时候一个老外走过来,关切地问:How are you? 你们知道这个日本人怎么回答的吗?他拼尽最后一口气回答“ Fine, thank you. And you?”,然后一命呜呼)。你们听完之后有什么感受?为什么会出现这样的状况呢?因为我们以前接触的大多数教材告诉我们用“Fine. Thank. And you?”回答“How are you”。是教材限制了我们。“How are you”的地道用法教学:In fact, in our daily life, foreigners have quite different replies to greetings like “How are you”. 那么今天我们就一起来看看老外在不同的情况下会如何适当的回答“How are you?”First, 首先,我们来一起看一看心情一般的时候都可以怎么回答。我先把造成我心情一般的原因说一下,然后我做手势,大家一起问我“How are you”,OK?I rank among the average students in my class.我在班上成绩很一般。(做手势示意全班学生:How are you?)I am fine.I stroll all day and do nothing.我整天闲逛,无所事事。(做手势示意全班学生:How are you?)Just so-so.除此之外,心情一般时回答的方式还有: Cant complain. OK! Lets shrug our shoulders to learn these words again. 我们用西方人耸肩的动作来感受一下这些回答方式。西方人耸肩时,表示“无所谓”、“无可奈何”。OK!Now read all these replies after me, please! 大家跟我一起来把这些回答读一下。月有阴晴圆缺,人有旦夕祸福。大家总会有心情不爽的时候,如果这个时候有人问你们How are you?你们会怎样回答呢?我先把造成我坏心情的原因说一下,然后大家一起问我“How are you”,OK?Angela Zhang (Jay) came to see me but I was not at home today. 张韵涵(周杰伦)今天来拜访我,我却没在家。(做手势示意全班学生:How are you?)Awful!(此处做以拳捶额头、猛扭头、哀怨的神态)My girlfriend (boyfriend) falls in love with King Kong(如花). 我的女(男)朋友爱上了金刚(如花)。(做手势示意全班学生:How are you?)Terrible!(此处做痛不欲生、捶胸顿足的神态)OK!Now read all these replies after me, please! 大家跟我一起来把这些回答读一下。刚刚我们一起学习了心情一般和心情不好的时候的回答方式。那现在让我们的课堂 high起来。看看我们心情很high的时候,能怎么回答“How are you”呢?给大家几个令人兴高采烈的情景,然后大家再次一起问我“How are you”,OK?Twins invite me to have dinner with them at KFC. Twins邀请我与她们在肯德基共进晚餐。(做手势示意全班学生:How are you?)Great! (竖起大拇指)I am going to Disneyland in Hong Kong tomorrow. 明天我要去香港迪斯尼乐园。(做手势示意全班学生:How are you?)Wonderful! (高举双臂摆出一个健美运动员的夸张造型)OK!Now read all these replies after me, please! 大家跟我一起来把这些回答读一下。下面我们把这几个单词串起来,做一套广播体操。Great! Wonderful! Fantastic! (此处带领全班学生将三个单词的发音和动作结合,连作几次,节奏越来越快。)“How are you”的输出练习:Terrific! 好极了!Now, you have learned how to reply to “How are you” in the right way. 现在大家已经学会了如何在不同的心情下正确地回答”How are you?”。To make sure you have really mastered it, Id like to give you some exercises. 为了确信大家都掌握了,下面给大家做几个练习。 I want you to form two groups from here.(此处做一个将全班学生从中间劈开的手势,将全班分成两组,并且在做劈开的手势的同时口里发出“噼”的一声。然后发出如下指令) One group greets “How are you”. 一组同学问候“How are you”。(此时做出从问候组指向回答组的手势。)The other group replies in the right way. 另外一组同学用正确的方式回答。(此时做出从回答组指向问候组的手势)OK?!Lets begin!Its a rainy day and you stay at home watching TV. 今天是个下雨天,你呆在家里看电视。(此处一边念出场景,一边手指向回答组。念完后马上果断地做一个由问候组指向回答组的手势,示意问候组用“How are you”发问。发问后又迅速做一个由回答组指向问候组的手势,示意回答组用恰当的方式回答。以下几个练习操作方式相同。)(问候组学生说) How are you? (回答组学生回答) (此处在回答组学生正确回答后,引导全班学生再重复一遍所有恰当的回答方式。以下几个练习操作方式相同。)You catch a cold today. 今天感冒了。You are made the Excellent Student of the City. 你被评为市三好学生。You have been waiting for you friend in the sandstorm for one hour. 你在沙尘暴中苦等朋友已经等了一个多小时了。Jay invites you to sing his latest song with him at his concert. 周杰伦邀请你在他的演唱会上与他共唱菊花台。(如果有学生有意或无意地用与老师的意图不一致的方式回答的话,可以有两种应对措施:一、本来应该用好心情的应答却用了不同方式,则老师可以说:Oh! It seems that you always look at the dark side. / Oh! You are a pessimistic person. 似乎你是个悲观的人啊。二、本来应该用不爽的应答却用了不同方式,则老师可以说:Oh! It seems that you always look at the dark side. / Oh! You are an optimistic person. 似乎你是个乐观的人啊。) “How are you”与倒背如流新概念第一册第五单元Lesson 9的衔接环节:OK!
