Modal verbs are used to express ideas such as possibility, intention, obligation and necessity. must is one of modal verbs. It expresses possibility and certainty. It can be translated as “一定,可能”in Chinese. belong to means a part of something or somebody. It is“属于”in Chinese.must 1. That must be Jerry. They said he was tall with bright red hair. 2. That must have been the right restaurant. There are no other restaurants on this street. 3. NO FUTURE FORM1. That must not be Jerry. He has red hair. 2. That must not have been the right restaurant. Reading aloud helps develop your language skills. You will use them in school and throughout your lives. So why dont you go to page 38 to read aloud the text while listening to the recording. Read in groups of thought. 3a Reading and underliningTheres a newspaper article here on page 38. Now read it to list examples of must, might, could and cant for making inferences. While reading also try to cut/ the sentence into thought groups, study all the predicates, circle all the linking words and underline all the expressions.
