Teaching Aims and Demands:1. Language Knowledge(1).Key vocabulary and phrases: suddenly, rabbit, party, fall, hole, strange, carry(2).Key structure: were/ was doing (重点)2. Listening skill: To get specific information of a story and understand description of past on-goings. (难点)3. Speaking skill: To talk about past on-goings.4. Attitudes: To take active part in the game of telling stories. Learning strategies:Bottom up approach and listening to the tape and do some exercises.III .Teaching Aids: Multi-Media (Tape recorder, video, OHP, handout)IV. Teaching Procedures:Step1.Lead-inShow the video- Alices Adventures in Wonderland to the students, ask them to answer the questions: How many characters are there in the story? Who are they?Step2.Introduction1. Show the names and pictures of the main characters to the students, read through the words loudly and fluently. 2. Match the name with the pictures.3. Listen and number the characters in the story in the order you hear them.Step3.New words1. Show some pictures and introduce the new words of this unit, practice reading them.2. Match the words with the pictures.3. Complete the sentences with the words.Step4.Listening1. Pre-listening: What story are Tony and Lingling talking about?2. While-listening: listen to the recording carefully and find out the answers.3. Post-listening: (1).Read the conversation individually.(2).Fill in the table (group work): discuss and write notes about what the people were doing.(3). Everyday English: find out the important phrases from the conversation. Read through the conversation chorally.(4).Language points: fill in the blanks with the correct phrases, and analyze the usage of them.Step5. Grammar - the Past Continuous Tense.1. Read through the sentences, try to summarize: (1) .Definition:过去某一时刻或某段时间正在进行的动作。(2) .The structures of the grammar:基本构成: was / were + doing 否定形式:was / were + not + doing一般疑问句:把was或were放于句首(3).时间状语(标志词):at this time yesterday, at that time , at 8pm.last night 等或以when引导的谓语动词2. Make dialogues in pairs: according to the pictures and tips.3. Play a guessing game: Students are divided into 7 groups to play the game.Q: What was/were doing at?
