Attitudes: To take active part in the game of telling stories. Learning strategies:Bottom up approach and listening to the tape and do some exercises.III .Teaching Aids: Multi-Media (Tape recorder, video, OHP, handout)IV. Teaching Procedures:Step1.Lead-inShow the video- Alices Adventures in Wonderland to the students, ask them to answer the questions: How many characters are there in the story? Who are they?Step2.Introduction1. Show the names and pictures of the main characters to the students, read through the words loudly and fluently. 2. Match the name with the pictures.3. Listen and number the characters in the story in the order you hear them.Step3.New words1. Show some pictures and introduce the new words of this unit, practice reading them.2. Match the words with the pictures.3. Complete the sentences with the words.Step4.Listening1. Pre-listening: What story are Tony and Lingling talking about?2. While-listening: listen to the recording carefully and find out the answers.3. Post-listening: (1).Read the conversation individually.(2).Fill in the table (group work): discuss and write notes about what the people were doing.(3). Everyday English: find out the important phrases from the conversation. Read through the conversation chorally.(4).Language points: fill in the blanks with the correct phrases, and analyze the usage of them.Step5. Grammar - the Past Continuous Tense.1.
