Introducing,Project:031717,is an EU-sponsored Specific Support Action(SSA),providing an international forum for focusing and disseminating the results of the EUs 100m investment,in research from 9,key EU traceability projects:,TRACE;Co-Extra;SEAFOODplus;,GTIS CAP;GeoTraceAgri;DNA-TRACK;,OLIV-TRACK;ALCUEFOOD;FoodTrace,Why?,Because there is an urgent need for rapid consolidation and dissemination of European expertise to developing countries and SMEs,so that they can have access to the global markets that now exist.,PETER will develop harmonised traceability practices,will harmonise points of common interest,tools,content,strategies and information flows from these programmes through the involvement of the project co-ordinators.,will establish a platform for focusing key traceability aspects to:,Increase inter-project dialogue and co-operation,Maximise impact of EU food traceability research,Minimise duplication of effort,Achieve co-ordinated dissemination at European and global level,Provide platforms for inter-governmental and inter-agency discussion,Facilitate technology transfer to the industrial sector,The PETER project will seek to fill gaps and research needs.,will help new member and candidate EU states,and many INCO countries to improve their knowledge and expertise in the whole issue of traceability,and European regulatory requirements.,around the world,with conferences and presentations,in Asia,South America,Africa and the USA.,Further information:,Emails to:,
