Today , Its my great honored to have an opportunity to be here sharing my teaching ideas with you. My topic is Welcome to the unit taken from the first section of Module 1, Unit 3 Looking good, feeling good in advanced English. It is made up of four parts. They are analysis of the teaching material, The teaching methods Teaching procedures, Blackboard DesignPart 1: Analysis of the teaching material(I) Status and Function This unit introduces and develops the theme of looking good and feeling good. In Welcome to the unit, several pictures representing different peoples opinions on looking good and feeling good will be presented for student to think about and discuss. The relevant topics and activities are designed to grab students attention. Ss are expected to express their opinions by comparing the difference of beauty and health to practice their spoken English which will help them better understand the importance of health and arouse their interests.(II)Teaching aims and demands 1, Help them learn some important words and phrases.2, Develop their ability of talking about some ways to keep one looking good and feeling good.(III)Teaching Important and Difficult Points Help Ss learn how to look good and feel good as well as understand the meaning of the looking good and feeling good.(IV)Teaching aidsMulti-media computer and The small BbPart 2: The teaching methods In my opinion, the main instructional aims of learning English is to develop the students abilities of listening, speaking, reading, writing and their good sense of the English language. So in this lesson Ill mainly use the following methods:1, Discuss in pairs or in groups2, Communicative teaching method3, “Task-based” teaching method4, Audio-visual teaching method Part3: Teaching procedures I have designed the following steps to train their ability of speaking and writing especially speaking ability.Step 1: Greetings Greeting the whole class as usualStep2 : Lead-in Discuss the following questions. 1 Are you particular about your appearance? 2 Do you think appearance plays an important role in you life? Purpose: To arouse students interest of study and bring in new subject.Step3: Speaking Ask Ss to talk about the pictures in the book and then ask some of them to describe the pictures. Purpose: To help them get the general idea on how to be healthy and attractiveStep4: Practice Health is important to us , we should take notice of our everyday life. As we all know everyone wants to be healthy and attractive, everyone wants to look good and feel good. What do you do to make you healthy and attractive? Which do you think is more important , health or beauty? Purpose: from this part, students can get some good ways to make them look good and feel good, and they can also get their own opinions on health and beauty.Step 5 Homework Ask them to preview the new lesson and write down some sentences according to the sentence patterns on the Bb.Part 4 Blackboard Design Unit 3 Looking good, feeling good Welcome to the unit sentence pattern: _ makes/make me feel_In my opinion, the blackboard design can reflect briefly the teaching key points and difficult points of a lesion.
