语法精讲The -ing Form (2)used as Subject,Object and Predicative动词-ing形式（2）作主语、宾语和表语动词-ing形式作主语 1.动词-ing形式作主语表示一般或习惯的动作，在It is no use/no good/not any use/not any good/useless/a waste of money/a waste of time中，常接动词-ing形式。Walking is a good exercise.His coming made me very happy.It is no good discussing the question further.2.主语与宾语或与表语之间应为平行结构。 Seeing is believing.Talking with him means wasting time.动词-ing形式作宾语1.在介词之后，要求用动词的-ing形式作宾语。We are interested in playing chess. Im sorry for not having kept my promise.2.在某些动词，如：admit,appreciate,avoid,delay,enjoy,escape,finish,imagine,keep,mind,miss,practise,resist,risk,suggest,cant help,cant stand,be worth,give up等后，宾语形式同样为动词-ing。Everyone enjoys listening to music.Dont risk climbing the tree.3.在一些短语中，注意to的词性。如：get down to,listen to,pay attention to,stick to,be/get used to,look forward to等，to为介词，后应跟动词的-ing形式作宾语。He has been used to getting up early.More attention should be paid to helping the poor.动词-ing形式作表语1.动名词作宾语说明主语的内容，可与主语互换。 My job is teaching English.=Teaching English is my job.2.现在分词作表语，说明主语的特征：“令人”。The story is interesting.The snake is frightening.考题再现【考例1】_ the meeting himself gave them a great deal of encouragement.A.The president will attendB.The president to attendC.The president attendedD.The presidents attending解析：由句子结构可知，句子缺主语。若用从句作主语，需要连接词，排除A、C两项；不定式作主语一般表示将来，与题意不符。动名词作主语相当于一个名词作主语。答案:D【考例2】(2006北京高考，35) I cant stand _ with Jane in the same office.She just refuses_ talking while she works.A.working;stoppingB.to work;stoppingC.working;to stopD.to work;to stop解析：stand doing sth.容忍做某事，refuse to do sth.拒绝做某事。句意：我不能容忍跟珍妮一个办公室工作，她工作时总是喋喋不休。答案：C【考例3】(2006重庆高考，26)Isnt it time you got down to _ the papers?A.markB.be markedC.being markedD.marking 解析：get down to“开始努力干某事”，to是介词，后跟动词-ing形式。答案：D 【考例4】 The film is very _.All the people are _ at it.A.terrifying;terrified B.terrified;terrifyingC.terrifying;terrifyingD.terrified;terrified 解析：-ing形容词表主动；-ed形容词表被动。答案：A
