2019年高中英语 语篇提能26 外研版必修2阅读理解A(xx东城高一检测)In high school, George Lucas didnt do much work because he spent all his time dreaming about racing cars.Just a few days before graduation, George was driving home from the library in his Fiat; he prepared for a left turn by looking in the mirror. But as he started the turn, he heard the sound of another car, a blowing horn(喇叭), and the speeding Chevy hit the driver side of his car. The little Fiat turned over four or five times before it was stopped by a big tree. Luckily, George did not die in the accident, but his recovery was slow and he needed months of physical treatment. He would never be able to race cars now.The accident really changed Georges life. He decided there must be some reason he survived, and made up his mind to get his act together and make something out of his life. He decided to go to university and developed an interest in reading and writing. He got on quite well in his studies. He didnt quite forget about racing cars. At that time instead of driving race cars, he began filming them. You may have seen one or all of George Lucass most famous films from the Star Wars series or the Indiana Jones trilogy. Young men will never again go to war as they did in 1914. Millions of people now have seen the effects of a battle. And the result has been a general dislike of war, and perhaps more interest in helping those who suffer from all the terrible things that have been shown on the screen. Television has also changed politics. The most distant areas can now follow state affairs, see and hear the politicians before an election. Better informed, people are more likely to vote, and so to make their opinion count. Unfortunately, televisions influence has been extremely harmful to the young. Children do not have enough experience to realize that TV shows present an unreal world, that TV advertisements lie to sell products that are sometimes bad or useless. They believe that the violence they see is normal and acceptable. All educators agree that the “television generations” are more violent than their parents and grandparents. Also, the young are less patient. Used to TV shows, where everything is quick and interesting, they do not have the patience to read an article without pictures; to read a book that requires thinking; to listen to a teacher who doesnt do funny things like the people on childrens programs. And they expect all problems to be solved happily in ten, fifteen, or thirty minutes. Thats the time it takes on the screen. 4In the past, many young people _.A. knew the effects of warB. went in for politics C. liked to save the wounded in warsD. were willing to be soldiers 答案与解析D细节理解题。由文章第一段前两句“Young men will never again go to war as they did in 1914.”可知过去年轻人乐意成为士兵。5The author thinks that TV advertisements _.A. are not reliable on the wholeB. are useless to peopleC. are a good guide to adultsD. are very harmful to the young 答案与解析A细节理解题。由文章第三段“TV advertisements lie to sell products .”可知作者认为电视广告不可靠。6Which is NOT true according to the passage? A. People have bee used to crimes now.B. With a TV set some problems can be solved quickly.C. People now like to read books with pictures.D. The adults are less violent than the young. 答案与解析B是非判断题。由文章最后一段最后一句可知问题并不像电视中那样很快得以解决,故选B项。7From the passage, we can conclude that _.A. children should keep away from TVB. TV programs should be improvedC. childrens books should have picturesD. TV has a deep influence on the young答案与解析D推理判断题。从文章第三和第四段可推知电视对年轻人的影响很深。
