The organization was founded in 1983 as a cultural exchange program and re-vamped in xx to focus on educational volunteerism and service learning. ISV currently has offices in ten countries in the Americas, Australasia and Western Europe. International Student Volunteers Inc. (ISV) is currently seeking applicants for the position of Director of International Education and University Relations at our head office in Southern California. Position Summary: The primary focus of the position will be to foster and strengthen new and existing relationships with university administrators/study abroad departments throughout North America and internationally in support of ISVs volunteer and service learning programs overseas. Other responsibilities will include supervising Program Coordinators in various countries with respect to the educational program, representing ISV to the broader international education munity at conferences, acting as a liaison between ISV promotional staff and campus administrators, and advising students who wish to earn academic credit for their participation in the ISV program.Qualifications: - University degree and five to ten years of professional/managerial experience in a related field with advanced knowledge of international education and related policies, - Experiential education and/or service learning programs, cross-cultural concepts, and principles of good practice with regard to academic programs abroad- Demonstrated ability to negotiate and develop relationships with senior administrators, and plan, develop, and implement organization-wide practices/policies- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines- Exceptional interpersonal, munication and leadership skills- Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve- Background in law or contract negotiation, teaching/instructing at university level as well as experience studying and/or working abroad would be definite assets. Some national and international travel required.
