Colins plan tells us how to use the words in Part A. In Part B, we learn the new words and then use them in Part C and Part D. Besides, I want to try various new kinds of food and to experience life in other parts of the world. And during traveling, I can meet many new friends. What about you?SI: I dont love traveling. Often it will take one lots of time to travel and traveling makes one tired. I like going to the library to read a variety of books and surfing on the Internet to get lots of information of many different aspects in my spare time.S2: But traveling is fairly interesting. You can learn a lot of knowledge by traveling, experience quite different cultures, and learn about the customs of local people. I think it is a good way to make discoveries SI: I dont think youll make many discoveries , because if you only look around without doing any research, you wont discover much!S2: But in my opinion, when you travel to a place you want to visit very much, you are eager to get to know a lot you dont know before about this place. And thus you have made discoveries unconsciously in fact. For example, when you go to Xian to see Emperor Qins tomb and Terracotta army, you will get to know much about the history of Qin dynasty.SI: What you said sounds reasonable Then where would you most like to travel?S2: I like to travel almost everywhere around the world. One of my dreams is that I can visit all the places all over the world before I bee old. So once I have spare time to travel ,I will go to visit someplace.(ask another group to act out)T: Thank you. Nowadays, more and more people take mountain climbing and white-water rafting. These two are very interesting, fun and exciting. Today, it doesnt have to be difficult or expensive to go for a swim with a dolphin. Many zoos and aquariums in many cities can arrange dolphin swims. Do you like to swim with a dolphin? Why or why not?S: Swimming with a dolphin is an exciting and inspiring adventure. I like it very much, because dolphins can show us the simple beauty of nature. I think playing with dolphins can help us understand what is important in life.S: I have been on a dolphin swim. This unusual experience helped me see the beauty of nature and understand life better.S: I dont like swim with a dolphin because its too dangerous.T: You are right. But if you do love to swim with a dolphin, I think the following tips are necessary: Swim carefully and slowly so that you dont frighten the dolphins Dont try to catch a dolphin Look at the dolphins and try to imitate their behaviors If you want the dolphins to e closer, you can make a strange noiseT: Adventures such as mountain climbing and white-water rafting can be dangerous. Take human beings space adventure for example. February 1st, xx was a day when people all over the world felt sorrowful. On that day. the Space Shuttle Columbia had an accident and its crew was all killed m the crash. The seven astronauts lost their valuable lives for the development of humans space work. . They will be remembered by people around the world forever. S: I also think so. Once, Mount Qomotangma was unconquerable to human beings. But on May 29th, t953, the peak was first reached by Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay. When they reached the peak, they found the weather around the summit was cloudy and windy. S: You are right. Mountaineers are conquering nature at the risk of losing their lives. The have to tolerate the extreme cold, thin air, etc. And perhaps they might e across snowslide. S: There are also adventures by human beings in the bottom of seas, in the polar area, etc, which realize the continuous progress of humans.S: But I dont think so. Life is the most important thing for each person. People should cherish their lives.S: I think sometimes it is worth risking one s life for adventures, while sometimes it isnt worth. I dont think its worth dying in case you cant be rescued in time when you e across dangers while going adventure traveling.S: After all, everyone has only one life. So no matter what kind of adventures people carry on, should take every kind of dangers into consideration in advance and try their best to avoid tragedys happening. T: Now 1 will give you six minutes to write a summary about adventure travel. Then I will ask some of you to read out your writing. Ss: (Reading)T: What is he packing for his adventure holiday?Ss: A tent, a sleeping bag, a life jacket, a pan, a parka and boots, and extra clothes.T: What else? Who knows?S :A chocolate.T: Yes. What else will Colin have to pack? Write down the names by yourself.Step 6 Practice T: Turn to Page 27. Colins friend Jennifer wrote an e-mail to reminding him of all the things that he should take to make his trip more enjoyable. plete the e-mail. (several minutes later, check the answers )T: Very good! Jennifer suggested that Colin should take a first aid kit on his trip. What items should be included in a first aid kit?S : Bandages, aspirin and a pass. Because Colin will go on an adventure holiday, he might get hurt and he should bind round a wound or injury. He also needs aspirin to relieve pain and reduce fever. Take a pass so he wont lose his way.S: I think scissors and a thermometer should be included in a first aid kit. He needs a pair of scissors to cut bandages. It is sharp and can be used as a knife if necessary. A thermometer can be used to measure temperature in case he has a fever or the weather will be bad.S: Boots and a torch should be included. Boots can protect your feet and make your journey fortable. A torch is the most important instrument. It can light up your road and frighten animals away.Step 4 SummaryToday weve talked about places you would like to visit and adventures.
