Appreciation,When You Are Old William Butler Yeats(Ireland),This poem was written in 1893 and dedicated to Maud Gonne, the woman whom he had loved for all of his life.,When you are old and grey and full of sleep , And nodding by the fire, take down this book. And slowly read, and dream of the soft look , Your eyes had once, and of their shadow deep. How many loved your moments of glad grace, And love your beauty with love false or true. The poet had declared love for Maud Gonne many times, but he had never get her response.
