Job Hunter- Reading一、 章节分析(Reading section )(一)综述本章节讲述了Amy 找工作的经历。由于这是每个学生都将经历的事情,因此学生们对这个主题应该是比较感兴趣的。因此,教师应充分利用学生的兴趣,将此课文同实际情况相结合,来进行教授。 本课的任务有两个: 1 对课文进行整体阅读。培养学生略读(获取大意)、扫读(整理有关信息)、细读(分析篇章结构,概括中心)等阅读能力。 2 通过学习课文,了解面试过程中可能会碰到的问题,为Speaking 部分作准备。(二)阅读目标1 知识目标 学习课文中重点词、词组、句型和语法。 2 能力目标 进一步提高学生的阅读理解能力和培养学生的阅读技巧。3 情感目标帮助学生理解应聘的整个过程,使学生能够了解应聘对找工作的重要性以及如何处理细节问题,学会如何去参加应聘。(三)教学方法采用任务型教学法组织教学,通过比较,讨论等具体活动,达到教学效果。(四)重点和难点1 词汇学习1) 核心词汇l applicants, application, applyl confidencel abilityl initiativel interviewl qualificationsl employeel vacancyl trainingl prospectl salariesl delightedl nervous2) 拓展词汇 l to get onl to get along withl to get over3) 词组和短语 l at all costsl come in handyl apply forl make a good impression onl a branch ofl get on/along withl find a suitable vacancyl build up ones confidencel prepare forl make an appointment二、 教学设计(Teaching Designs)教学内容教学实施建议教学资源参考Pre-reading 建议老师用一个课时完成两个任务:l 培养阅读时skimming 和scanning 技巧.l 根据课文主题,从而调动学生学习积极性,激发学习兴趣,为顺利进入课文学习打下基础。中学英语合作网牛津英语教学参考Page 58While-reading 这是本课的主体部分,也是老师要处理的重点,既要引导学生学习重点词汇和句型,又要提高学生的阅读理解能力,培养学生的阅读技巧。l Skimming 要求学生快速略读,获得课文的大概轮廓,能在有限的时间内运用skimming技巧,找到最基本的信息。l Scanning 部分是根据六张图片的内容配上适合其内容的一个段落,要求学生运用scanning 技巧,搜索需要的信息。l Further understanding 经过以上两个基础环节后,进入课文深层次的理解,要求学生对求职面试的一系列过程有所了解。l Consolidation and conclusion 把课本第6061页的练习E进行讲解,巩固刚学过的内容。Post-reading Discussion这是课文的拓展部分,也是进行情感教育部分。结合课文设计一个模拟面试场景,让学生实际操作一番。 链接1说明:本部分采用任务型阅读教学方法。通过略读、扫读、细读等不同手段来提高学生的阅读理解能力,从而培养学生的阅读技巧。 Teaching BackgroundThis chapter is mainly about how to apply for a job and how to behave properly at a job interview. According to Amys experience of hunting for a job, teachers can make students know a general idea about the process of hunting for a job, especially how to prepare for a job interview.Teaching period 1 and 2Step one: Warming-up1. Let students read some short job advertisements in the newspaper to lead to the topic “Job Hunting”(见课件: ads in the newspaper.ppt)2. Ask several questions to introduce the topic and the core words. Questions: What kind of position does the company in the advertisement need? What qualifications are needed in the advertisement? If you want to apply for this job, what will you do to apply for this job? (-introduce the phrases such as “hunt for” “apply for”)Step two : Tasks1. ask the students to finish Exercise A skimming2. ask the students to finish Exercise B scanning3. listen to the tape and try to find out the steps of Amys hunting for a job4. ask the students to read the text and teach some words and phrases in the textStep three : Practice - Group discussion:What should you pay attention to when you attend a job interview?Step four : ConsolidationDesign a situation of a job interview.
