SAFETY GUIDEPlease read the entire instruction manual before you use the X2ABS system. It will give you a better understanding of how the product works. If you are unsure whether a medical condition should preclude you from using the device, consult your physiotherapist, osteopath, or medical practitioner. During the heavy days of your period do not use the unit. The X2ABS is intended to use on healthy muscles only. And it is suitable for use only in adults.1.1 Contraindications1. X2ABS should NOT be used on the heart area.2. X2ABS should NOT be used by people with cardiac pacemaker, defibrillator or other implanted electronic or metallic devices.3. X2ABS should NOT be used by pregnant women, and during first 6 weeks after their babies birth.4. X2ABS should NOT be used by people with neuromuscular diseases and hemorrhagic diseases.5. X2ABS should NOT be used on injured or otherwise impaired muscles.1.2 Warnings1. The long-term effects of chronic electrical stimulation are unknown.2. Apply electrodes ONLY to normal, intact, clean skin.3. DO NOT APPLY STIMULATION:- Over the carotid sinus nerves.- Over the neck or mouth. Severe spasms of the laryngeal and pharyngeal muscles may occur with contractions strong enough to close the airway and/or cause difficulty in breathing. Stimulation over the neck can also have an adverse effect on the heart rhythm or blood pressure.- Transcerebrally (through the head)- Over swollen, infected or inflamed areas of skin eruptions (e.g., phlebitis, thrombophlebitis, varicose veins, etc.)- Transthoracically; introduction of electrical current into the heart may cause rhythm disturbances, which could be fatal. - Over or in proximity to, cancerous lesions.- If you are epileptic- After experiencing acute trauma or fracture- Following recent surgery- If you have a hernia (abdominal or lingual)- To the frontal, laryngeal and temporal regions of the neck.4. Never use the X2ABS while driving, operating machinery or during activities in which involuntary muscle contractions may endanger the user or others.5. Do not use the X2ABS in the bath or shower.6. Persons with suspected heart problems or epilepsy should obtain appropriate medical advise.7. The X2ABS should never be used while sleeping.8. The X2ABS must be kept out of reach of children.9. The electrode pads and belt should be single patient use for hygiene.1.3 Precautions1. The safety of neuromuscular stimulation during pregnancy has not been established.2. Place electrodes in accordance with illustrations in the User Manual.3. Users should start all sessions in a sitting or prone position (minimum for the first 5 minutes).4. This unit should not be used while driving, operating machinery or during any activity in which involuntary muscle contractions may place the user at undue risk of injury.5. DO NOT use if there is tendency to Hemorrhage (acute trauma or fracture). 6. DO NOT use following any recent surgical procedure when muscle contraction may disrupt the healing process.7. DO NOT use over the menstruating uterus.8. DO NOT use if you have skin areas that lack normal sensation.1.4 Safety, EMC & Biocompatibility1. This device is Class II equipment with type BF applied part. It complied to Medical Electrical Safety Standards (IEC 60601-1, IEC 60601-2-10).2. This device is also complied to Medical EMC Standard (IEC 60601-1-2).3. All the user directly contracting materials for electrode (conductive pad), belt, and gel in this device are biocompatible for its intended use. They are complied to biocompatibility standards ISO 10993-5 (Cytotoxicity) and ISO 10993-10 (Irritation and Sensitization).1.5 Special PopulationThe X2ABS is suitable for use only in adults.1.6 Adverse ReactionsSkin irritation and burns beneath the electrodes have been reported with the use of powered muscle stimulators.2. INTENDED USE & INDICATIONS FOR USEIntended Use:The X2ABS Dual Channel Fitness Belt is intended for use by healthy persons to apply trans-cutaneous electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) through skin contact electrodes for the following purposes:- Improvement of muscle tone of the muscles in the abdomen.Indications for Use:X2ABS Dual Channel Fitness Belt is indicated for the improvement of muscle tone, for strengthening of muscles and for the development of firmer muscles. It is indicated for use on the abdominal muscles.Contraindicated use on injured or otherwise impaired muscles.Not intended to use in any therapy or for the treatment of any medical conditions or diseases.3. DEVICE DESCRIPTIONThe X2ABS generates small and gentle electrical pulses that are delivered inside the belt placed on your skin. The X2ABS sends a signal to your muscle and causes it to contract and than relax. These impulses are designed to copy the natural nerve signal and to obtain efficient, pleasant muscular contractions, which repeat again and again.3.1 Exercise PointsThe X2ABS can exercise the following 3 points of abdomen as following:A. Upper Abs:Upper abdomen, helps tone the abdominal muscles. Similar to the exercise which pulls the diaphragm up under the rib cage.B. Main Abs:Strengthen the main abdomen similar to sit-ups; 10 minutes in mode 2 gives 600 muscle contractions.C. Lower Abs:Similar to laying down, lifting legs slowly, and then lowering them slowly. Firms the lower abdomen.A. UPPER ABSHelps tone abdominals.Similar to crunch.B. MAIN ABSStrengthens the main abs.Similar to sit-ups.C. LOWER ABSSimilar to lying down, lifting legs slowly and lowering them. Once you are comfortable with the unit and your abs & are used to it, you can step up from Mode 3 to Mode 7, which is perfect to tone the upper abs and lower abs. The maximum time you should use the X2ABS is for 30 minutes per muscle group up to 3 times per day with at least 4 hours resting time between the sessions.Abdominal Firming and StrengtheningSelect (Mode 8, Iron Man)The Iron Man Mode delivers signals that can improve abdominal muscle tone, develop a firmer abdomen, and strengthen the abdominal muscle.After ChildbirthSelect (Mode 4 Work out, Mode 5 Ab Melt, Mode 6 Fast Blaster)During pregnancy the muscles of the abdomen are severely stretched and after childbirth become very flabby. The actual period depends on the state of the abdomen and medical advice. The contractions should be very gentle at first as the muscles will be very tender. After a few sessions you should be able to start increasing the intensity further.Attention DO NOT use the X2ABS during pregnancy. You should NOT use the device until 6 weeks after parturition, and you should consult a physician before using the device. Treatment should wait for a period of about 3 month after a cesarean section.4. USING INSTRUCTIONS4.1 Fit Your Belta. The X2ABS belt has been pre-adjusted to fit a stomach girth of 35-38 (89-97cm). The control unit is attached to the belt.b. Please look at the rear velcro flaps how to adjust the belt and check how to attach the control unit.c. Detach the control unit and insert the batteries.d. WITHOUT GEL: Adjust the belt to fit tight, but comfortable around your stomach. The “Front” and “Back” mark in the belt should be positioned in the centre of your stomach and back. Adjust the size of the belt, by folding the belt into the rear velcro flaps approximately symmetrically on both sides if necessary.Belt size adjustment, Small(S) / Medium(M) / Large (L)L MSLFolding LineMFor Large size approx. 39-44S For Medium size approx. 32-36 For Small size approx. 24-29You can adjust the belt size in S/M/L. According to the size indicators and the folding line, you can fold the belt into the rear velcro flaps approximately symmetrically on both sides for S/M/L size adjustment.e. If your stomach girth is larger than 45 - 46 please attach the velcro belt between the open ends of the belt as an extension.f. After achieving a good fit take the belt off.g. Fit the 4 conductive pads targeting the desired areas.4.2 First Operation1) Open the battery compartment by sliding the door gently downwards (please right side diagram)2) Insert 2 x AAA batteries by following the polarity indications in the compartment.3) Attach the control unit to the belt by simply clipping it onto the front. 4) Attach the conductive pads to the belt by simply clipping them on using the press studs.5) Turn the Belt on its face and place a generous dab of the X2ABS toning gel onto each of the four conductive pads. Attention: The unit will NOT work without a conductive medium between your skin and the conductive area of the belt! To guarantee the best results in the fastest time use ONLY the specially formulated X2ABS toning gel. This gel is water based gel. DO NOT USE gel or creams that contain oils as this can be dangerous! Oil-based gels can contain ingredients that react badly with the conductive pads of your belt and could reduce the lifespan and efficiency of the belt significantly. 6) Make sure the unit is switched off, i.e. the LCD display is OFF. If you accidentally switch the unit on, please press and hold the ON/OFF button for 3 seconds to switch it off again.7) Place the new X2ABS dual channel belt around your stomach and close the belt to a comfortable, but tight fit with the Velcro belt (not too tight).8) We recommend starting with the upper abs, placing the belt above your belly button.9) Switch the unit on by pressing the ON/OFF button once. The LCD display will light up and show some display.10) Use the PROGRAM button to toggle through the menu: Mode Power Timer Repeat4.3 Mode SelectionAfter selecting the program in Mode, the default intensity is set to 0. Please press the function button to increase the intensity. Please refer to Item 3.3 for detail mode selection.Attention:While Modes 1, 2, 3 are repetitive, Modes 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 consist of a large variety of different elements found in a training program. During the program, the length and pulse change consistently. By confusing the muscle grouping you can gain more benefit. Short pulses are used for reflex action and long pulses for endurance toning and massage. As a beginner you should always use the mode and intensity that feels most comfortable to you.4.4 Intensity SelectionPower with 10 Intensity LevelsPush the UP/DOWN button for each channel to increase or decrease the intensity level. Level 1 is the first intensity you can feel. The pre-set value is 0 after choosing your mode in the mode setting. You will notice a tingling sensation prior to the muscle contracting. Once the muscle is contracting you will feel pleasant and relaxed. Adjust the intensity according to your comfort level.The intensity level has 10 steps per channel. With every push of the button UP/DOWN you increase / decrease the intensity by one step. You can set different intensity levels for left and right channel exercises adjusted to the individual levels you feel most comfortable with.4.5 Timer SettingTimerDefault time is 10 minutes. Press the UP/DOWN button once to increase or decrease the time increment. Maximum time is 45 minutes.1) To switch the unit off, press and hold the ON/OFF button for three seconds.2) To turn the sound on/off, press and hold the FUNCTION and ON/OFF button for 2 seconds. The display will show the “sound off” icon.4.6 Auto FunctionsIf the conductive area of the belt (the black area on the back of the exercise pads) does not touch the skin, the intensity can only be set up to “1”. An alarm will sound after 2 seconds and the unit will automatically switch off. If the belt is removed during use, the intensity is automatically reset to “1”. If the belt is not immediately placed back into contact with the skin, the unit will automatically turn off after 20 seconds. The X2ABS unit has an auto-timer. It will automatically switch off after 10 minutes of use. If you change the exercise mode during the 10 minute exercise period, the timer will continue to count-down from the original leftover time.4.7 Other Features1) Safety featuresThe X2ABS unit has several built-in safety features:A) AUTO OFF: After approximately 10 minutes, the AUTO OFF function will turn off the unit, if it is not in use.B) FAILSAFE: The unit will not work if you are not wearing it, if there is not enough conducting gel present or no load is connected. C) ALARM: in case of B) the unit will sound a beeping alarm.D) KEYLOCK TOGGLE ON/OFF: Press and hold the function key for 3 seconds.2) If no muscle contractions are felt, move the belt slowly around the area that you want to target. Make sure you have enough X2ABS gel placed on the inside of the neoprene belt. Gradually increase the PULSE INTENSITY by pushing the UP button for each channel in the mode until muscle contraction is felt.4.8 Exercise GuidanceDuring the first week, you should give your muscles time to adjust to their new work-out. Use the unit for a maximum of 10 minutes per muscle group, once or twice a day, with a minimum of 4 hours resting time in between each exercise session. After the first week, you can use the X2ABS for a maximum of 30 minutes per muscle group, 3 times a day, with a minimum of 4 hours resting time between the sessions. You should adjust your exercise routine to your personal fitness level and you should always ensure that you feel comfortable.To avoid unnecessary discomfort and ensure maximum performance, please replace the conductive pads from time to time or if their effect becomes weak or erratic.5. MAINTENANCEThe X2ABS dual channel belt is made of quality materials. The only maintenance required with the X2ABS is to clean the conductive pads and belt gently from time to time, and to replace the battery. Please refer to 5.1 for cleaning method in detail.The conductive pads are a consumable item and can wear with use, depending on the gel you are using, your own body fluids and how often you use the belt. A discoloration of the conductive area and a “crumbled look” after many uses however is normal. NEVER BEND the conductive pads! Worn conductive pads can reduce the performance of the unit or cause the belt to feel erratic. Wear and tear is not covered by the guarantee (see 5.3).If several people want to share the X2ABS you can easily detach the computer unit by unsnapping it from the neoprene center and use it on your own personal belt for hygienic reasons. Just pull the unit off and put it on a new belt. The X2ABS is energy efficient. The batteries lasts for approx. 100 sessions of ten minutes. If the output becomes weak or the unit switches off automatically in less than 10 minutes, it is time to change the batteries (even if the LCD is still lit up).The micro-control unit is built reliable and uses SMT technology. It is maintenance free and will give you many years of trouble free usage.The electrode pad, belt and gel are designed for personal use. For reasons of hygiene, there will be neither trade-in nor exchange.5.1 Cleaning- Machine washing and soaking is PROHIBITED.- Do not wash the belt in fabric softener as this can damage the belt.- Do not dry clean.- Do not use bleach.- Clean accessories with a slightly wet sponge with detergent and wipe with a cloth.- Clean the unit with a cloth soaked in with disinfectant (Mercryl type)diluted in water at 1/10th.- Clean the electrodes with a mix of water/hypoallergenic detergent, then rinse thoroughly.5.2 Safety MaintenanceIn case of any problems or malfunction, please follow the trouble shooting guide in Section 7 “TROUBLE SHOOTING”. If your unit still does not perform, please contact the distributor or nearest service center for support.Do NOT disassemble the device by yourself.5.3 GuaranteeThe Shelf-life Time for electrode pad is limited to 10 months. ZATGEL6. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONSQ.How does the X2ABS really work?A.X2ABS is designed to copy the messages sent from your brain to the abdominal muscle during exercise. This message causes the muscle to contract and relax.Q.Can muscles become over-developed or strained?A.No. The principle is the same for general training of muscles- the more exercise, with suitable periods of rest, the stronger the muscles become.Q.Can this machine be used for all ages?A.No. The X2ABS is suitable for use only in adults.Q.Will I find it uncomfortable?A.As long as the belt is moist and kept firmly against the skin you will not feel any unpleasantness. At low intensity you will feel a slight tingling sensation but as the intensity gets higher you will only feel the pleasant contraction. Start using it on your upper Abs first, not directly over the belly button where most people are most sensitive.Q.Should the intensity settings be the same for each muscle?A.Each muscle will respond differently, so intensities will accordingly
