A Survey Of The Attraction Of Four Means Of Advertising Elements For College StudentsName: Dream Class: Communication AtrsAdvertising is a form of communication that attempts to persuade potential customers to purchase or to consume more of a particular brand of product or service. A good advertising should be distinctive, appropriate, practical, graphic, simple in form and prompted audiences to reflect. In this connection, I have do a survey for the appeal of advertising elements to college students. It may can provide a precise data to advertisers to make they ads more attractive.College students belong to class of knowledge in the social system, they has its own characteristics: firstly, they belong to the young group whose more likely to accept new things than other groups, and more easily to attracted by the television advertisement; secondly, they are intellectuals, have a passion for aesthetic requirements of TV advertising.I have designed a questionnaire for the students of Communication University of China, the survey issued a total of 100 questionnaires, random survey, the successful recovery of 100 valid questionnaires, the sample has an efficiency of 100%.Except television, network, newspapers and magazines, outdoor ads and flyers advertising also gradually go deep into college students life, network advertisement still occupy dominant position. The second survey is the attraction of four means of advertising elements for college students. The four means are Visual Means Graphic Design Elements, Cultural/Social Means Perceptual Elements , Topical Means Whats cool or current and Psychological Means Fear, Dependence, Shock.Through the investigation, I find that the attractive of Visual Means and Cultural/Social Means for college students just does a little work, the most attraction means for college students is the psychological Means and Topical Means.According to the results of the investigation, we analyze the psychology of the audience of college students for advertising according to Aristotles three principles of persuasionEthos, Logos & Pathos.From the perspective of Ethos, the college students audience has not established a complete world view and value system. They lack the cultural identity of loyalty and logical, extraordinary advertising and graphic design elements for the college students who are lack of financial independence are unattractive. On the other hand, the young man was easily affected, they tend to worship a celebrity, and has a fanatical following. This is the reason why college student attracted by Topic Means rather than Culture Means and Visual Means.From the perspective of Pathos, also because of their mood is variable, they are easily influenced by inexplicable emotions such as Fear, Dependence, Shock, so they will effected by Psychological Means.
