To get much information about how different people celebrate Christmas.二、教学重难点:Pupils learn posters about Christmas in groups, and try to give some reports.三、教学准备:PPT, eight posters, word cards四、教学过程:教学过程学生活动教师指导设计意图1. Warm-up:a. Ss watched some photos about their International Day on Christmas Eve. b. Ss sing a song together.“Christmas is here” Good morning, boys and girls. How was your Christmas Eve? Were you happy?通过播放孩子们前天平安夜活动的照片,吸引学生兴趣。2. Lead-in: Ss in eight groups choose their own group names about countries.3. Task One:Guessing Gamea. Ss listen and guess.(Chinese New Year, Halloween)b. Ss look and guess.(Easter, Mid- Autumn Festival, Dragon Boat Festival)4. Task Two:a. Ss try to answer: “How do people celebrate Chinese New Year?”b. Ss review some phrases:(clean the house, have Chinese New Year feast, watch fireworks, visit family members, get red packets, watch a dragon dance)c. Ss learn new phrases:(put up Spring Festival Couplets, decorate with red color paper-cut)d. Ss try to talk about Chinese New Year.e. Ss try to talk about Chinese New Year.5. Task Three:a. Ss try to think about “What is the most important festival in western countries?” b. Ss receive different posters about their own countries. They learn the posters in groups, and try to give a report.c. Ss give reports in groups.Eg: People in Germany enjoy decorating the Christmas tree. They like eating Lebkuchen and drinking beer.It is hot summer in Australia, so people in Australia have a BBQ and drinks in the forests. After the meal, they have a “disco” and “kangaroo dance” at night.6. Conclusion:Ss understand “family reunions and harmony”.Homework:Surf the Net, try to introduce your favourite festival, including origin(起源) and customs(习俗).Today we are going to have a competition.What festival is it?What is the most important festival in China?Make a dialogue or give a speech, you can choose anyone of it.Different people have different ways to celebrate Christmas.Different people have different festivals.
