When he comes home again tohis own parents, he says to his father, “Is it true that I was born in London, Daddy?” “Yes, it is, Dick.” his father answers. “And were you really born in Germany?” Dick asks. “And is it true thatMummy was born in Ireland?” Dick continues.His father says, “Yes, it is, but why are you asking me all these questions?” Dick answers, “because when Granny tells me all those things while I am with her, I cant understand how wehave all met.” (8) Mr. Green has a dog. It loves him very much. One day Mr. Green goes out to throw away hisold shoes. He puts them near the rubbish box. The dog goes there to look for food. It sees the shoes.It knows they are its owners shoes. So the dog takes one shoe back with its mouth, then the other.The dog puts them near his bed. He is sleeping. After some time, Mr. Green gets up. He sees theshoes. He is angry. He lights a fire（点火）and throws them into the fire. Just then there is a big wind. The fire lights the house. But the dog takes the shoes out of the fire again at last. (9) Her name is Mary. She comes from the USA. She is in China with her father and mother.She can speak a little Chinese. She studies in No. 1 Middle School in Shanghai. She and herfather and mother are in the same school. She is a good student. She goes to school from Monday toFriday. She likes getting up early. She doesnt like to be late. She often goes to school very early.But today she gets up late. She gets to the classroom at 7:30 today. But there aren t any students init. She is not late. She is early. Its Sunday.
