Teaching material analyzing 教材分析 本模块以Look after yourself为话题,以学习谈论健康生活的规则为主线,介绍了很多安全和健康生活规则。通过模块学习,学生将重点复习已学基本时态的用法、词汇和功能句;了解安全健康生活规则,并能运用正确的时态和所学单词或功能句去给他人提出关于健康生活的建议。 Unit 1 通过听、读、说训练,初步学习谈论事故的问题。其中Activity 1 相当于整个单元的Warming up部分。 由于该教材是小学起点,即学生在小学阶段已经接触过相关话题,因此这个活动激活学生已有的目标语言;Activity 2 是一听能训练,要求学生听后捕捉细节;这部分的语言描述与Activity 1有很大关系;因此在Activity 1中尽量体现与本模块话题相关的语言表达是很重要的;Activities 3-6 是一个整体。可以可看作是对学生的语言输入。Activity 4 是要求学生在听和读的基础上把握accident 所应包含的要素,从而帮助他们阅读同类体裁的文章;Activity 5 要求学生阅读课文并找出相关细节问题的答案;Activity 6 要求学生在理解课文、一定训练的基础上对课文内容进行概括、复述,综合性要求较高。教师可以在此之前帮助学生归纳总结询问、描述伤势等目标语言,以便学生能够准确地使用这些语言;Activities 7&8是新课程标准语音项目表中所要求的,同时也为Activity 9的 “说”部分做了准备;Activity 9 是一个语言输出部分,要求学生运用目标语言来描述自己的经历。 Unit 2 通过读、写训练,学习谈论健康生活的规则。该单元共设计了8个活动。其中Activity 1相当于整个单元的Warming up部分,设计该活动的目的在于激活学生与该主题有关的目标语言和经历;同时也是在训练学生有关该话题的表达能力。根据题目要求学生应从三方面来完成:advantage/danger/describe。 Activities 25要求学生阅读介绍“安全和健康生活规则”的短文,完成各种练习。这些活动主要是训练学生的阅读能力,并让学生了解更多的健康生活规则,为以后的口语和书面语输出做准备。Activities 6-8写作即书面语输出阶段,要求学生根据以上活动的学习内容写作,该部分应包括以下几个方面:1、从课文中提取rules并对每个rule举例说明应该做什么和不应该做什么;这里用一般现在时态;2、列举破坏rule的经历,用一般过去时描述所发生的事情;3、用一般将来时态表明应该怎样做才能安全以及健康。Unit 3 对“安全和健康生活规则”进行综合训练,并在此基础上学习时态。其中Activities 1-2 要求练习时态。因此可以把这两个活动作为一个课时来上,以帮助学生掌握时态。Activities 3-8 要求学生用正确的时态做各种关于“健康生活的规则”的练习。Around the world介绍了笑对健康的作用。Module task要求学生为他人提供健康建议。 因此可以把这些部分放在一起组合成一节综合技能课。III. Ask students to read the new words after the teacher. After making sure that all the students can read them correctly, give them 5 or more minutes to learn the words by heart. Then ask the students to dictate in pairs. The teacher can play card games with students to help them remember the new words. The teacher can prepare some cards with English words on one side and their Chinese meanings on the other side. Then randomly picks out one card for students to say the English words or their Chinese meaning.Step II TalkingAsk students to look at the picture on Page 48, and talk about questions in Activity 1 in pairs. Encourage the students to try to use the new vocabulary. The boy got a wound in his knee. Step III ListeningGet student to do Activity 2.T: Most of us know how to deal with accidents. When it is very urgent, we should keepS: Calm.T: Yes. And also, its never too careful to keep ourselves safe and sound, because its really bad to have an accident. Next, well listen to a dialogue about a serious accident. Fist, look through the questions in Activity 2 and guess what has happened.Several minutes later, ask some of students to give their answers.T: Well, time is up. Whod like to say something about the answer?S: Tonys dad ever had serious accidents.T: Good. Next, listen to the tape and write down key words.Play the recorder twice for the students. Then ask them to answer the questions. Step IV ReadingGet students to read and listen to the dialogue in Activity 3 and plete Activities 4, 5, 6. Help the students learn how to talk about accidents.T: Tonys dad had such a serious accident. We have to learn lessons form him. Take care of yourself every where and every time. Now, tell me where it is very easy to have accident?S: On the camp.S: When traveling.S: Outing.T: Thats it! Daming and his friends are traveling on the Great Wall. But something wrong has happened. Look through the dialogue and tell me what the matter is.Several minutes later:T: What has happened?S: Daming is hurt.T: Yes. ListeningGet the students to listen to the dialogue. However, Mr. Jackson said he would soon be OK!Step V PronunciationGet students to do Activities 7-8T: We speak to share information. When we speak, we want the listener to understand what we say. Often we speak without visual aid, in the form of a written script, for instance. Sense group do help us in this aspect. The clue to understand it is the silence (or pause) that occurs before and after it. Division of sense groups depends on the identification of parts of sentences, which make convenient units of sense. The separation of units is according to some grammatical cues. The sense units are introduced by grammatical words such as relative pronoun, conjunction and preposition. Separating the particles from the clauses to which they belong will affect both meaning and fluency. Now, listen to the sentences in Activity 7.Help students have a basic idea of sense group. Play the tape and get them to listen to and repeat after the tape. Then do Activity 8 for practicing.Step VI SpeakingAsk students talk about an accident in pairs. First help them summarize the related expressions for talking about an accident.1. Expressions about how someone was hurta. Hes cut his head, his shoulder hurts and I think he broken his leg.b. I cut my face, and hurt my arms and knees.c. Hes got a wound in his leg and he may get a fever but its nothing serious.2. Expressions about how long it took to get bettera. It took him to get better.b. It was three weeks before I could ride my bike again.Then ask them to make their dialogues in pairs. Later ask some pairs to act their dialogues out.StepVII Consolidation and evaluationHelp students sum up what they have learned today.T: My dear class, can you tell me what you have learned today? Step II Speaking Ask students to look at and talk about the pictures in Activity 1 in pair. T: Couch potato is a person who watches TV a lot on the couch. Do you think watching a lot of TV on the couch is good for our health?S: I think its good. T: Why?S: Because I can learn some news and enjoy Korean plays.T: Whats your opinion?S: I dont think its good. Because sitting a lot without doing exercises is bad for our health, we have to do exercises to keep healthy.T: How about you, please?ST: Are you a couch potato?S: No, but once I was.
