Greek gods can be divided into several groups.The earliest group was Titans , led by Cronus . The most powerful group was the Olympians . The Olympians are a group of 12 gods who ruled after the overthrow of the Titans. All the Olympians are related in some way . Aphrodite(阿弗洛狄德): the goddess of love, desire and beauty.,Zeus 宙斯,Zeus /zjus/ is the “Father of Gods and men“ who ruled the Olympians of Mount Olympus as a father ruled the family. He was the god of sky and thunder in Greek mythology. Zeus was the child of Cronus and Rhea, and the youngest of his siblings. His symbols are the thunderbolt, eagle, bull and oak. He is married to Hera , but is famous for his many affairs.,Hera 赫拉,Hera was the wife and one of three sisters of Zeus. The cow and the peacock were sacred to her. Hera was known for her jealous and vengeful nature, most notably against Zeus lovers and offspring. Paris offended her by choosing Aphrodite as the most beautiful goddess, earning Heras hatred.,Poseidon波塞冬,Poseidon was the god of the sea, and, as “Earth-Shaker,“ of earthquakes in Greek mythology. He was widely worshiped by seamen. he was integrated into the Olympian gods as the brother of Zeus and Hades. His weapon is a trident (三叉戟), which can shake the earth and shatter(粉碎) any object.,Hades 哈迪斯,According to myth, he and his brothers Zeus and Poseidon defeated the Titans and claimed rulership over the cosmos, ruling the underworld, air, and sea, respectively. Because of his association with the underworld, Hades is often interpreted in modern times as the personification of death, even though he was not.,Hestia 赫斯提亚,Hestia, first daughter of Cronus and Rhea, is the virgin goddess of the hearth(灶台）, architecture, and of the right ordering of domesticity（家庭生活） and the family. She received the first offering at every sacrifice in the household. Of all the Olympians, she is the mildest, most upright and most charitable （仁慈的）,Ares 阿瑞斯,Ares is the Greek god of war. He is the son of Zeus and Hera. In Greek literature, he often represents the physical or violent aspect of war,Ares: All that you have, is dead! 阿瑞斯：“你所拥有的，只有死亡！”,Hermes 赫尔墨斯,Hermes is the great messenger of the gods in Greek mythology and a guide to the Underworld. He is the god of thieves and commerce. He was the cleverest and fastest of the Olympian gods. He wears winged sandals(凉拖), a winged hat, and carries a magic wand（棒）.,Hephaestus 赫菲斯托斯,But unlike most other gods, Hephaestus was lame, which gave him a grotesque appearance in Greek eyes. He served as the blacksmith of the gods, and he was worshipped in the manufacturing and industrial centers of Greece, particularly in Athens.,Apollo 阿波罗,Apollo is one of the most important and diverse of the Olympian deities in Greek and Roman mythology. Apollo has been variously recognized as a god of light and the sun, truth and prophecy(预言）, medicine, healing, plague（瘟疫）, music, poetry, arts and more.,Artemis 阿尔忒弥斯,Daughter of Zeus. Her twin brother is Apollo. She is the goddess of the hunt, the moon, chastity（贞洁）, virginity and the nature environment. She is the protector of the young women.,Athena雅典娜,Daughter of Zeus. She is the goddess of wisdom victory , war, the city, handicrafts, and agriculture. She invented the bridle（缰绳）, the trumpet（小号）, the flute, the pot, the plow（犁）, the ship and so on. She is the embodiment（化身） of wisdom, reason, and purity.,Aphrodite 阿弗洛狄德,She is the goddess of love, desire and beauty. She represented sex, affection and the attraction that binds people together. In addition to her natural gifts , she has a magical girdle（腰带） that compels（迫使）anyone she wishes to desire her.,Prometheus普罗米修斯,Creator of mankind. He shaped man out of mud（泥浆）. Protector and benefactor（恩人） of human. He stole fire for mankind ,with the result that he was punished by Zeus. He was chained to Mount Caucasus(高加索山脉）, and every morning an eagle would appeared and ate his liver（肝）, which grow back at night.,
