广东罗定县2017高考英语(一轮)阅读理解优练阅读理解。阅读下列短文, 从给的四个选项 (A、B、C和D) 中, 选出最佳选项。Who Owns the Moon?Within the next ten years, the U. S. , China, Israel, and a crowd of private companies plan to set up camp on the moon. So if and when they plant a flag, does that give them property(财产)rights? A NASA working group hosted a discussion this week to ask: Who owns the moon? The answer, of course, is no use. The Outer Space Treaty, the international law signed by more than 100 countries, states that the moon and other celestial bodies(天体)are the province of all mankind. No doubt that would annoy all of the people throughout the ages, like monks from the Middle Ages, who have tried to claim the moon was theirs. But ownership is different from property rights. People who rent apartments, for example, dont own where they live, but they still hold rights. So with all of the upcoming missions(派遣团)to visit the moon and beyond, space industry thought leaders are seriously asking themselves how to deal with a potential land rush. “This is a very relevant discussion right now. Weve got this wave of new lunar missions from around the world, ”said William Marshall, a scientist in the small-spacecraft office at NASA, but who spoke this week at an event hosted by NASAs Co Lab, a collaborative(协力完成的)public-private working group. He was speaking from his personal interest and not on behalf of the agency. To be sure, the United States aims to send astronauts back to the moon by as early as 2015, in a mission that would include a long-term settlement. China and Israel, among others, are also working on lunar projects. And for the first time, several private groups are building spacecraft to land on the moon in an attempt to win millions of dollars in the Google Lunar X Prize. Some participants say that they plan to gain some property rights in the mission. 【文章大意】本文介绍了世界范围内的登陆月球热, 以及作者对这种现象的担忧。1. In the passage the writer seems to be worrying that. Lots of desperate people crowded the terminal. I quickly learned that flights headed to the Northeast were called off because of a storm. The earliest they could get us out of Charlotte was Tuesday. It was Friday. A gate agent stood on the counter and shouted, “Dont ask us for help!We cannot help you! ”I joined a crowd that ran from terminal to terminal in search of a flight out. Eventually, I found six strangers willing to rent a van with me. We drove through the night to Washington, where I took a train the rest of the way to Providence. The real problem, of course, is that incidents like this happen every day, to everyone who flies, more and more often. It really gets to me, though, because for eight years I was on the other side, as a flight attendant for Trans-World Airlines (TWA). I know the days are gone when attendants could be written up if we did not put the lines napkins with the TWA logo in the lower right-hand corner of the first-class diners trays. As are the days when there were three dinner options on flights from Boston to Los Angeles in economy class. When, once, stuck on a tarmac (机场停机坪)in Newark for four hours, a planeload of passengers got McDonalds hamburgers and fries by thoughtfulness of the airline. I have experienced the decline of service along with the rest of the flying public. But I believe everything will change little by little, because I remember the days when to fly was to soar (翱翔). The airlines, and their employees, took pride in how their passengers were treated. And I think the days are sure to come back one day in the near future. 1. Many people crowded the terminal because_.A. they were ready to board on the planes B. something was wrong with the terminal C. the flights to the Northeast were canceled D. the gate agent wouldnt help the passengers2. How did the writer get to Providence at last? A. By air.B. By van. C. By train.D. By underground.3. Which of the following is NOT true according to the passage? A. Incidents happened to those who fly quite often. B. The writer used to be a flight attendant for Trans-World Airlines. C. Even a small mistake might cause complaints from passengers in the past. D. McDonalds hamburgers and fries were among regular dinner options. 4. What can be implied from the passage? A. The writer lived in Charlotte, North Carolina. B. The writer thought the service was not as good as it used to be. C. The writer with other passengers waited to be picked up patiently. D. Passengers would feel proud of how they were treated on the plane.【参考答案】28. When a cat is frightened, its heart starts beating faster, its muscles get tense, and there are changes in the chemicals in its blood-stream. Although the cat doesnt realize this, its body is getting ready for action. If the danger continues, this animal will do one of the two things. It will defend itself, or it will run away as fast as it can. Something like this also happens to people. When we are excited, angry, scared, or aroused by other emotions, our bodies go through many physical changes. Our hearts beat faster, and our muscles get tense. All of these changes make us more alert and ready to react. We, too, get ready to defend ourselves or run. Human beings, however, have a problem that animals never face. If we give way to our feelings, we can get into trouble. Have you ever said something in angeror hit somebody and regretted it later? Have you ever shouted at a teacher, told somebody you were lonely, or said you were in love, and then wished later you had kept your mouth shut? It isnt always wise to express your feelings freely. Does this mean that its smarter always to hide our feeling? No!If you keep feelings of anger, sadness, and bitterness hidden away or bottled up inside, your body stays tense. Physical illnesses can develop, and you can feel churned up inside. It can actually be bad for your health. Feeling that you keep all bottled up inside dont just go away. Its as if you bought some bananas and stuck them in a cupboard. You might not be able to see them, but before long youd smell them. And if you open the cupboard, chances are youd see little fruit flies hovering all over them. Theyd be rotten. You can try to treat emotions as if they were bananas in the cupboard, you can hide them and you can pretend they dont exist, but theyll still be around. And at last youll have to deal with them, just like those bananas. 1. It is mentioned in the passage that human beings get into trouble because they_.A. are not as alert as animalsB. sometimes cant control their feelingsC. always do something wrong to other peopleD. dont pay attention to their physical changes2. The underlined words “churned up”in the 5th paragraph mean “”.A. very shocked B. beaten heavilyC. very frightened D. disturbed badly3.
