Hot LED lighting marketLEDs is mentioned continuously on the mainstream media all over the world. The governments worldwide are making policy to push the replacement from traditional lighting to more environmental friendly lighting solutions particularly LED lighting for both public and private lighting applications such as EU, Japan, and Canada forbid using incandescent bulbs after 2012.High power LEDs as the most promising product among LEDs family are being more and more applied in lamp, electronic appliance, decorative and other lighting applications.The reason high power LEDs is so hot and LED market boosts in the 2009 regardless the decline of economy is two-fold. They now can emit lights that is more close to sunlight. Moreover warm white is available as option for LEDs by utilizing automated systems for sorting. It was thanks to advancements in phosphor coatings and experience from batch production that such systems are invented. Further improvements were made in LED rendering because RGB LEDs gain more stability in color mixing due to the introduction of high power led drivers.LEDs have small size and can be used combined with other electrical component such as sensor, dimmers and lighting control to achieve desired effect that other traditional lights not able to.With excellent efficiency and light performance high power LEDs is getting popularity in numerous light applications.Developed in the 1960s, LED lighting has now becoming available in the residential space lighting market.The Advantages to LED Light Bulbs are:1. Save Money and ElectricityThe efficiency of the new LED light bulbs is more than eight times that of incandescent lights, and twice as that of CFLs (compact fluorescent lights). LED bulbs also emit a much higher percentage of light in one direction. This makes them even more efficient compared to either incandescent or fluorescent for task lighting, desk lamps, reading lights, spotlights, flood lights, and track lighting.LED lights also generate very little heat. The energy savings may increase in air-conditioned environments where each watt of incandescent lighting can add another watt or more to the power needed for air conditioning.2. Instant full brightnessFluorescent lights when first turned on are dim, and get brighter as they warm up. Depending on the temperature and the age of the bulb, this can take a quite a while. If it is cold enough, they will not warm up and remain dim if they light at all. LED lights always start at full brightness. This provides safety and security, even in the coldest weather. If on a dimmer, make sure the dimmer is made for LED bulbs.3. No Mercury.Fluorescent lights contain mercury and must be treated as hazardous waste. LED lighting contains no mercury or other dangerous substances.4. No Ultraviolet (UV) light.LED lights emit no ultraviolet light that causes fading and aging of artwork or other sensitive materials. Fluorescent and halogen lights can cause significant damage to many materials over time.5. Fewer Bulb Replacements.The long life of LED light bulbs reduce the time, effort and cost of replacement. LED bulbs can operate for almost 30,000 hours or 10 years or more. One bulb can easily outlast at least 30 incandescent bulbs, or about 6 compact fluorescent bulbs operating 8 hours per day.
