As we all know that there are many ups and downs of human beings life, just like the old saying that people born to be sufferings. There is no denying that Great Expectations profoundly reflects the Pips changeable life so as to lead us to think of life seriously. Concerning Pips unpredictable life, there are many factors affecting his life. In the past decades, an army of studies and researches about the factors have been conducted by scholars, which have made tremendous progress in researching character development of Pip. They have focused on different factors. Some groups have proposed that human factors affect his life, whereas other groups have proposed that environmental factors affect life. In addition, there are also many Chinese and foreign studies and researches have been carried out. Mainly Chinese scholars study Pips character development from the perspectives of the factors affected Pips character development and getting meaning from the process of Pips character development. For example, Wu Hao (2012) and Lei Ping (2005) pointed out that the advantages and disadvantages of Pips character development; meanwhile, they have a detailed conclusion that the various factors, including time factors, human factors and environment factors, affected Pips character development. Guo Rong (2009) came up with the point that the human factors influenced Pips character development, he concluded that Mrs.Joe and Mr. Joe cultivate Pips kindness, Miss Havisham negative effect for Pips character development, Miss Estella cause the Pips greedy and arrogance and Biddy play an positive effect on Pips character development. However, mainly foreign scholars more focus more on studying Pips character development from the perspectives of Pips nature and belief; Pips relation affected his character development and the influence of social environment. For example, the American writer Christorher D.Morris (1987) extended direction of recent questioning by considering Pips bad faith, he also pointed that it is a development process of Pips nature and conscience. Julian Moynahan (1960) analyzed the ambivalence of Pips troubled relations with all characters. From the above, the Chinese and foreign scholars have given out many of their own opinions about the factors of Pips unpredictable life through the way of analyzing the figures development and various factors. Among these opinions, we have found that there are so many people analyzing the character development of Pip in order to get meaningful inspiration in the process. To date, although their researches include many aspects, they also have some deficiencies of current research. Scholars more focus on the factors of Pips character development, such as environment, relations and nature, not many of them analyzinge the factors comprehensively and meaning we get from the analysis of Pips character development. Therefore, my paper will try to make up the deficiencies, I will give a comprehensive analysis on the factors and meaning we get from the research. As far as Im concerned, Pips character development was affected by a great majority of factors, hence we should try to give a comprehensive analysis on the factors. Only if we have fullya full analysis, we cancan we get more information about his character development. The study is of educational significance.It is well-known that, nowadays, parents become more and more paying close attention to the healthy growth of their children. Therefore, the causes ofThe study of character development may give thesome references for parents and educators so as tosince a lot of children nowadays will nottend to be lost in life. Based on these, we will get many meaningful lessons from the research of Pips character development, and from this perspective, we should try our best to research Pips character development in Great Expectations.二、研究目标与主要内容In this paper, I will give a comprehensive analysis of the factors of Pips character development, and the meaning we get from this research, which including the gradual mature of growth and a reference for parents to educate their children.1. I will collect the usable Chinese and foreign literature, then analyze and conclude the literature. Whats more, induction and classification of usable literature so as to be convenient to be used in my paper. In addition, I will make a study of Great expectations, and analyze the story, relations, dialogues and acts of figures. Based on this, I can fatten and rationalize the paper. The literature collected will be analyzed with the method of analytical method.The study will be conducted based on the ensuing procedures:1. Keep doing literature studies related to Pips character development and assembling working bibliography;2. Collect data needed with literature research method;3. However, in my paper, I will give a comprehensive analysis of Pips character development. Therefore, I present the innovation analysis of factors affected Pips character development. Secondly, I also make an innovation in the method of analyzing data. Many of scholars always use one of the analyzing methods to collect literature or information. In my paper, I will combine with the analytical method and historical analysis to analyze the literature.
