Andersen did not know the Spanish original but read the tale in a German translation titled So ist der Lauf de.In the source tale, a king is hoodwinked by weavers who claim to make a suit of clothes invisible to any man not the son of his presumed father; whereas Andersen altered the source tale to direct the focus on courtly pride and intellectual vanity rather than adulterous paternity.,Setting,Aderson says: “ I use all my feelings and thoughts to write the tales for the children. But at the same time I never forget about the adults. When I was writing a story for the children ,I always remembered their parents may listen to it beside them.,Author,Hans Christian Andersen,(,1805-1875,),was a Danish author and poet,,,most famous for his fairy tales.
