A department has the lowest sales figure in the three departments, followed by the B department and C department. Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write a short essay entitled Education Pays based on the statistics provided in the chart below. Please give a brief description of the chart first and then make comments on it. (见图片 ) Education Pays Pays corresponds to education levels, as is demonstrated by the chart above. The weekly earnings in 2010 increases with the sort of diploma the person holds. For instance, the college students with no degree get paid $712 per week whereas those with a Bachelors degree can earn 50% more than them. Several reasons, in my opinion, can be identified to account for this phenomenon. To begin with, compared with those with comparatively lower education degree, people who have received higher education possess considerably wider knowledge, more remarkable learning and research ability, greater innovation and most of all, resourceful social network, all of which are essential to a high-income work. Also, the higher ones education degree is the bigger platform he will have to show his ability . For example, his college, university, or research institute will organize various job fairs for them to communicate face to face with employers. This phenomenon tells us that education is a worthy investment, therefore, substantial education investment should be strengthened while we, as college students, should study harder to build our country and strive for a better life for ourselves. Education Pays From the bar chart /table/ graph given above, we can observe that unemployment rate of those with higher education background is much lower than those with lower education degree. For instance, the unemployment rate of college students with no degree is as high as 14.9%, while that of those with doctoral degree is only 1.9%. The following reason, in my opinion, is the most important one to account for this phenomenon. Compared with those with comparatively lower education degree, people who have received higher education possess considerably wider knowledge, more remarkable learning and research ability, greater innovation and most of all, resourceful social network, all of which make them more qualified and competent for their task. Thus, they are less likely to lose their jobs. This phenomenon tells us that education is a worthy investment. Therefore, education investment should be strengthened while we, as college students, should study harder to avoid unemployment. In conclusion, it is our qualifications, learning habit and specialized skills that high education equip graduates that make us distinctive in the labor market. Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write a short essay on the topic Reading Habits of American Students, and base your writing on the chart and information given below. 下面的饼状图展现的是美国一家大学图书馆中各类图书的流动量。 请对比它们的流动比例,阐述原因,并说明你自己喜欢的图书类型。 Reading Habits of American Students Seen from the chart, it can be concluded that American students prefer to read popular novels rather than other kinds of books. Among all the books students read now, popular novels account for 68%, while unpopular novels make up 17%, technical books 8%, and poems only 5%. It is no wonder that popular novels have attracted such a large audience. They are written in plain language so that one can easily read them for entertainment or relaxation. Books of technology and collections of poems are less appealing because they are often more complicated and abstract than the popular novels. In my own practice, I dont think it advisable at all to read popular novels. Firstly, I spend much of my free time reading books in my specialized field environmental protection. Secondly, I take great delight in reading nonfiction such as history and biography so as to be wiser and more reasonable. To turn my dream into reality, I must cherish every minute of my life and work harder.
