境域主要涉及福建南部、广东全部、广西东部及南部，位于欧亚大陆的东南边缘，处于低纬。北有五岭为屏障，南濒南海，多山少地，河网纵横，受着强烈阳光的照射和海陆季风的影响，具有优良的气候条件。北回归线横贯境内，由于受惠于季风的调节，这里仍然是山清水秀，植物繁茂，一年四季郁郁葱葱，呈现出一派典型的亚热带和热带自然景观，被誉为南国风光。Located at the South-east of mainland and low latitude region,the overall zone extended to the south part of Fujian,east and south part of Guangxi and covered the whole Guangdong province.North is the major ridge line of South China.South is facing to South China sea.The folding terrain with limited flat land is connected with rich water networks.With plenty sunlight during the seasons and seasonal winds,the climate is gentle and 石材和理石与江南及北方园林不同，石材有广西湖石、广东黄腊石和英石、闽南花岗石、海南珊瑚石、台湾咕咾石等。岭南理石不向上堆叠，而向水平展开，分为置石法、堆石法、挂壁法、塑石法。置石法为黄腊石、湖石和花岗石，分平置、抛石和埋石三法。石身置于土上，如随意抛置而成，故云抛置，如金茶花公园；石根入土半截以下，称为平置，如湖里公园；石根超过一半没入土中称为埋石，如南山寺。堆石法多为用于湖石或珊瑚石，如汕头中山公园海礁石山、海口五公祠珊瑚石山、台湾吴园咕咾石山。叠石法主要用于英石的壁山做法，称挂壁法，最富岭南风韵，如广州宾馆三叠泉，可用于室外室内，前者如广州流花湖公园茶室的壁山，后者如白天鹅宾馆石室中的壁山。塑石法用灰泥和水泥仿石，节省石材，现代公园里儿童游乐区的古洞探险几乎都用塑石，最好当属闽南塑鼓石，如厦门南湖公园。Stone 岭南园林設計特征-广东园林風格為主流Lingnan Garden Design Characters-Guangdong Style is the main stream水Waterscape山Landform岭南园林非属山性，园山有几种：一是 崖瀑潭局 中的悬崖，如清晖园的九狮山和凤来峰；二是 鼓石潭局 的鼓石岛，如万石植物园的万石湖中真鼓石和南湖公园中的塑鼓石；三是 海礁局 的礁岛，如佛山梁园中的龟石和湖心石；四是一般的 堆山，如海口五公祠中的珊瑚石山。岭南园林较少以土堆山，即便是现代公园也是如此，多因水为水，因山为山，如桂林园林中的真山水，几乎不改造。Lingnan gardens mountain idea:Cliff with waterfall,Lagoons,Skerry,Stacking
