Unit 6 How tall are you?教学设计Period 1一、 概述: 本课是湘少版英语六年级上册第六单元的第一课时,主要内容是Part B部分及Part A 部分句型,本课通过单词和句型的学习,告诉学生怎样用英语询问及描述人物的基本情况。新单词是weak,worried, centimeters, kilogrammes, heavy,light, tall. 新句型是How tall are you? How heavy are you?在教学中主要是创设情景进行教学,让学生在真实的语言环境中学语言。二、 教学目标分析:1.知识与技能:(1)了解cm和kg分别表示长度和重量单位,能够学会新单词centimeters,kilogrammes,weak,worried.(2)掌握新单词age, heavy ,light,tall及句型How tall are you? How heavy are you? 并能根据实际情况作出回答.(3)初步了解重量、长度单位的英语表达方式并能在实际生活中运用,能描述自己的年龄、体重和身高,并能询问及描述人物或事物的基本情况。2.过程与方法(1)通过师生说和自主听读体验交际式英语教学的一般过程,掌握英语听说的基本方法;(2)采用视听法、听说法、任务型活动教学法及交际法,创设各种真实或接近真实的语言环境,以学生参与、体验的形式,来激发学生对英语学习的兴趣,调动学生学习英语的积极性。3.情感态度和价值观培养学生在观察和测量中使用英语的习惯,引导学生关注自己身边的人和事物,渗透健康教育,在阅读中培养学生的团结合作意识。三、教学重点和难点:教学重点是使学生能充分理解、正确朗读新单词,难点是新单词centimeters, kilogrammes的发音以及新句型的理解和运用。 四、学习者特征分析:六年级的学生已经学了四年英语,有了一定的英语基础,知道一些单词与句型,如:问候他人、询问姓名和年龄,能在老师的帮助下看图说简单的句子,他们对于课堂教学的活动均能积极主动地参与;但随着知识点难度的加大有一定的畏难情绪,因而教师在课堂上要设计丰富多样的活动和创设情境去调动学生的学习积极性。五、教学策略: 为了顺利完成以上教学目标,更好地突出重点,突破难点,按照学生的认识规律,我采用了小学英语“兴趣、情景、活动”教学法,任务型教学法,游戏教学法等几种方法。英语教学要求学生主动积极参与,通过创设情景,把学生带进仿真的生活环境,鼓励学生多开口,多与老师或同学交流交际,用英语表达自己的思想和感受,达到掌握知识培养技能的目的。教学不是简单的知识传授,为了不使学生感到枯燥无味,我采用多种教学手段,如多媒体和创设真实的语言环境,比较形象、直观,使学生变苦学为乐学。在教学过程中启发、诱导学生思维,培养不同层次的学生大胆用英语交际的能力。六、教学资源及环境:1.湘少版小学英语六年级上册教材。2.与课文相配套的CAI课件。3.centimeters, kilogrammes的词卡。4.与课文对话相关的Flash动画和Flash动画小故事。5.老师准备的物品,如台秤、量高器等。6.教学环境:多媒体教室、教学课件(PPT形式,内含图片、flash动画、音频等)。教学过程:Step1 Happy Warming up 1) Free talk 【学习内容】Hello! How are you? Whats your name? How old are you? 【设计意图】不仅拉近了彼此之间的距离,而且为后面问身高和体重埋下伏笔。 2) Sing an English song :Today is a fine day.Are you happy? Lets sing a happy song together, OK? 【学习内容】Ten Little Indian Boys 【设计意图】课前唱歌热身,活跃课堂气氛,让学生融入学习状态。同时复习歌曲里的数字,为后面的教学做好铺垫。 3)Read the numbers: There are some numbers,can you read them quickly?【学习内容】32 150 137 48 60 165 56 148 43 【设计意图】帮助学生很好地复习数字,为下一步说身高体重作铺垫。Step2 Happy Presentation and drill 1)Hi,boys and girls. I bring a friend for you. He is very tall and he is good at playing basketball. Can you guess :who is he?(生答:姚明)(CAI)Yes, he is Yao Ming, a famous basketball star.Look! Yao Ming is very tall.(Teach:tall) Can you tell me how tall is Yao Ming? Oh ,he is 226 centimetres tall. 出示单词卡教学centimetres及词组。【学习内容】单词centimetres及词组226centimetres 150 centimetres 158 centimetres 162centimetres 【设计意图】教师选择一个大家都耳熟能详的球星作为新课的切入点,学生会很感兴趣,马上进入新课的学习。 2)等学生能熟读以上词组后师指着姚明的图片问:How tall is he?生答。But how tall are you? Youre shorter than Yao Ming.(此时教师可走进一名学生问How tall are you?)若学生不知道可带他到讲台前用量高器测量。You are tall.If you want to know your friends height,you can ask: How tall are you?(出示句型卡教学)【学习内容】句型How tall are you? 【设计意图】通过多媒体及学生测量身高理解句型意思,反复练读句型。3)We know Yao Ming is very tall and he is heavy too.(Teach: heavy)He is 150 kilogrammes.(CAI出示姚明站在台秤上,旁边标着150kg)How heavy is he?Oh, he is 150 kilogrammes.出示新单词kilogrammes教学。Yao Ming is 150 kilogrammes. But how heavy are you?帮助学生测量自己的体重并学会用英文回答。【学习内容】单词kilogrammes及句型How heavy are you? 【设计意图】通过多媒体理解单词与句型意思,学生自己测量提高了他们的学习积极性,生乐于上台发言,效果好。4)CAI出示一个小男孩图片Look at these two boys ,one is heavy, So, another is light. 【学习内容】单词 light。 【设计意图】为了帮助学生理解单词light的意思,借助多媒体呈现一高一低跷跷板的图片,很生动形象,让学生记忆深刻。Step3 Happy Practice 1)Passing game. Last month,there was a physical examination in our school. Can you remember your weight and height. Lets listen to the music and pass this paper. Who get the paper will answer the question.(边听音乐边传卡片)【学习内容】How tall are you? How heavy are you?及回答 【设计意图】学生边学边玩,积极性高,很好地复习新句型。 2)Pair workAsk your partners weight and height.【学习内容】同桌两人一组用所学句型互问身高和体重 【设计意图】保证每位学生有机会练说本课新句型。Step4 Happy Production1) Here is a picture. This boy is Peter. He looked weak. His mother was worried about him. She took him to see the doctor. What happened?Lets listen to the text and try to answer these questions:How tall was Peter? How heavy was Peter?2) Ss answer the questions, then listen and repeat the text.3) Try to read the text by yourselves.【学习内容】Part A 【设计意图】学生在掌握了重点句型的基础上借助多媒体学习课文感到很轻松,这样化难为易更利于学生掌握新知。 4) Summary:T: Today we have learned these new words : weak,worried, centimeters, kilogrammes, heavy,light, tall.
