Winter Olympics will be held in Beijing and Zhangjiakou in 2022. I will briefly introduce Figure Skating here. Figure SkatingFigure skating is a sport in which individuals, pairs, or groups perform on figure skates on ice. It was the first winter sport included in the Olympics, in 1908. The four Olympic sport event of figure skating are mens singles, ladies singles, pair skating and ice dancing. Singles are a competition for men and women. Individual skaters perform jumps, spins, step sequences, spirals, and other elements in their programs.Pair skating consists of a woman and a man. Pairs perform throw jumps, in which the man throws the woman into a jump; lifts, in which the woman is held above the mans head in one of various positions; pair spins, in which both skaters spin together. Ice dancing is for couples consisting of a woman and a man skating together. Ice dance differs from pairs skating in focusing on intricate footwork along with the music. Ice dance lifts must not go above the shoulder. For music, skaters may use professional music editors so that their music meets requirements. Ice dancers are required to skate to music that has a definite beat. For long programs, figure skaters generally search for music with different moods and tempos. Music selections for exhibitions are less constrained than for competitive programs.Also, we need to learn English to promote international communication.
