Students will learn some nouns related to emotions and adjective forms of these words They will learn some idiomatic ways to express feelings.ProceduresStep 1 Lead-in ( brainstorming )Encourage students to think of as many words as possible to express happiness since they have just learnt the text about happiness. Step 2 Vocabulary learning Explain to the students that all these words are abstract nouns, which represent things that cannot be experienced through touch, taste, sight, hearing or smell. They all express strong feelings and emotions. Inspire the students to think about their adjective forms. Step 3 Expansion Guide the students to recall the words related to feelings and emotions of different respects, or to group the words according to the Chinese saying - happiness, anger, sadness, joy, love, understanding and desire. Step 4 Consolidation Finish off the excises on P.22 & P. 23 Step 5 Idiomatic expressions Tell students what an idiom is. Discuss and practice doing the excises offered, guessing the real meaning of the underlined parts.Step 6 Homework Finish off the excises on P.100
