And I want to ask you: do you know how to write a personal essay to describe your favorite sport? And what a format to write a personal essay.For example: a)We can send our bestwishes to our friends by email ; b) Email can bridge the distance between people.Step 4 Reading I. Scanning Read the text quickly and try to find the answer to these questions: 1. What is the authors favorite sport?(American football )2. Why does he like it? (he thinks the American football players are great and the game is very interesting.)3. What are his hopes for the future? (He hopes he will have the chance to see a real American football in person.).Careful-reading Ask the students to read the passage again and find out Main idea of the three passages:The first paragraph:topicThe second paragraph:Details about his favorite sport. The third paragraph:Feelings about his favorite sport. The fourth paragraph:His future hopes for his favorite sport. . Deal with language points:1. American football 美式足球, 橄榄球Soccer n.英式足球 2. get/have a chance to do sth. 有机会做. I hope I can get a chance to attend the famous concert next week.3. in person 亲自 He always do everything in person.他做事总是亲力亲为。Step5.Discussion Work in pairs to discuss which is their favorite sport? And prepare to answer it.Step6. Homework: 1. Write a short personal essay about your favourite sport or physical activity. 2.Remember the language points we have learnt today.
