At the beginning of the lesson, the teacher guides students to sum up how to describe our hometown with the help of a mind map.Q: How can we describe our hometown?【设计意图】: 通过四维导图,引导学生总结在描述家乡时,我们可以从哪些角度进行描述,导入本课话题,同时又激发学生头脑当中的词汇,为后面教学环境打下铺垫。2. Revise Unit 1 and Unit 2The teacher asks the students to describe Shenzhen ,Cambridge and London ,according to the information in the table. And then ask students :Which city do they like better, Cambridge and London? And why do they like it? 【设计意图】: 根据图表信息,转述让学生复述课文内容,激励学生对所学知识进行再次加工,充分调动学生参与课堂的积极性,复习了本模块词汇及话题, 让学生感知语言的运用。Step 2 Practice -语法:形容词比较级在具体语境中的运用1. Pair work. The teacher gets the students to compare the two pictures and then describe them with correct comparative adjectives.【设计意图】: 通过图片对比,为学生创设真实的语言运用环境,使学生进一步掌握了形容词比较的用法。2. Exercises. Now read the passage first, and then complete the passage with the correct form of the words in brackets. In my home town there are two cinemas, the Grand Cinema and the Palace Cinema. Beijing is _ than Shanghai.【设计意图】通过听录音,获取主要信息,让学生从听觉上感知语言的运用,加深了对形容词比较运用的理解,为后面的语言运用环节做好了准备。Step 4 writing 1. pre-writing Show pictures of two places in Dalian and get students talk about them .Qs: What places are they?Which place do you like better? And why?2While-writing First ,ask 2 or 3 students to sum up the reasons why they like Peoples Square or Xinghai Square, and then get them write down the reasons. 【设计意图】通过讨论,激励学生对所学知识进行再次加工转述,在图片的帮助下,先让学生对两个地方逐一进行口头对比,然后让学生以书面形式列出理由,通过此练习,已达到对将本模块所学的内容的表达以及适当地把形容词比较级运用到话题任务当中,为课后写作坐下铺垫。课堂作业Compare Peoples Square and Xinghai Square, which do you like better and why do you like it?
