It is a waste of time and money doing教学设计（Teaching Designs）教学内容教学实施建议教学资源参考Pre-reading 在这一阶段,教师可通过以下步骤达到引入“时尚”这一话题的目的。l 学生通过观察课文P18上图片, 完成 “What do you know about?” 回答相关问题。l 学生分组讨论：列举目前中国在学生、妇女和男士中流行的东西。具体提问的问题见教案链接1 牛津英语教学参考S2AWhile-reading 在此过程中，要求学生准确把握Debbie的演讲所传递的关键信息，并且能跟随Debbie的思路分析她论述观点的论据和方法。在整体理解内容的基础上掌握课文中出现的重点词汇。l 通过课文P19上的两幅图片和Skimming使学生获得本文的体裁，主题，人物等信息。l 建议将Scanning部分的练习分为两步：第一步采用课文P19练习，让学生找到Debbie在演讲中所提及的五个物品及其主人；第二步要求学生通过再次浏览全文得出一个初步的结论Debbie列举五个物品的目的分别什么，即，她要以此五个物品说明什么观点。l Further understanding: 在下一环节中， 要求学生针对之前得出的结论（Debbie演讲中表达的五个想法）找到支持这些结论的关键词、词组和句子。这一设计帮助学生回顾课文主要内容，在此基础上 1）使学生熟悉本课的关键词、词组和句子；2）使学生了解argument与supporting ideas的关系。虽然本课的Writing部分是写记叙文，但这对他们将来写议论文将会有指导意义。l Consolidation and conclusion: 1) 学生在理解全文基础上分组讨论：生活中对时尚不可或缺、不是太看重以及完全不看重的分别是哪类人群？ 2）指导学生完成课文后的Scanning部分的其他练习。Post-reading 针对课文最后 “Fashion is not the most important thing in life.”这一观点，推荐学生课外阅读补充材料（Wise Advice from Mother Teresa和Audrey Hepburns beauty tips）安排学生讨论： Mother Teresa与Audrey Hepburn的观点有何异同？此二人前者根本不关心时尚，后者曾是明星、时尚人物，为何却有相似的观点？以此来引出学生对内在美的重要性的关注。学生阅读补充材料：见链接2和链接3链接1说明：本部分建议采用任务型阅读教学方法。通过略读、扫读、细读等不同手段来提高学生的阅读理解能力，从而培养学生的阅读技巧。以下是一份教案。Teaching proceduresStep One Lead-inI.
