山东沂源县2017高考英语阅读理解一轮训练(一)2016高考训练题。阅读理解。阅读下列短文,从每题所给的四个选项(A、B、C和D)中,选出最佳选项。Children are children after all, and most of them speak their mind. When they are just toddlers(幼儿), no matter how naughty or rude they are, we think it is amusing to watch them speak like a grown-up. But as they grow, these same kids seem annoying and ill-mannered if they try to sound grown-up. Conflicts often appear between parents and children. Reasoning does not seem to work with themIts hard to tell who are right and who are wrong. A child of 7-8 always finds some reasons to have a conflict with his parents. Whether it is about some toys, studies, basic affairs, parties or friends, there is always a difference in opinions between them. And it becomes worse when they answer you back. Psychologists say that children should be handled with care. Yes, sure they should be but not at the cost of disrespecting their elders. We are partly responsible for this situation. At an early age we encourage grown-up-like behaviour, just because we find it amusing. The kids on the other hand consider this same behavior as normal and get used to it. And when it is not funny for us any more, we expect them to stop it, but by then it is already too late. Only when they reach a certain maturity will the children realize that answering back and being rude are not acceptable. Until then, most of the time their behavior is difficult to change, unless by force. And the use of force is again not a very good idea, as it weakens the childs confidence. Thus this brings us to the conclusion that it is one thing to bring a child into this world but quite another to make them into well mannered citizens. The best way is to be a good example ourselves, as our children are a reflection of us adults. 1.Which of the following statements is true according to the passage?A. It is annoying to watch children speak like a grown-up.B. We should deal with children carefully according to psychologists.C. We are totally responsible for our kids impolite behaviour.D. One showed that adults are much more cooperative if they work in a system based on rewards. Researchers at Harvard University in the United States did the study. They had about 200 college students play a game known as the Prisoners Dilemma. The game is based on the tension between the interests of an individual and a group. The students played in groups of four. Each player could win points for the group, so they would all gain equally. But each player could also reward or punish each of the other three players, at a cost to the punisher.Harvard researcher David Rand says the most successful behavior proved to be cooperation. The groups that rewarded it the most earned about twice as much in the game as the groups that rewarded it the least. And the more a group punished itself, the lower its earnings. The group with the most punishment earned 25% less than the group with the least punishment. The other study involved children. Researchers used intelligence tests given to two groups. More than 800 children were ages two to four the first time they were tested. More than 700 children were ages five to nine. The two groups were retested four years later, and the study compared the results with the first test. Both groups contained children whose parents used physical punishment and children whose parents did not.The study says the IQs - or intelligence quotients - of the younger children who were not spanked(掴)were five points higher than those who were. In the older group, the difference was almost three points.Murray Strauss from the University of New Hampshire has written extensively about physical punishment of children. He says the more they are spanked, the slower their mental development. He also looked at average IQs in other nations and found them lower where spanking was more common.67. Which of the following is True about the game mentioned in the first paragraph?A. Prisoners are more interested in the first game than the university students. B. The game is very popular with the students in Harvard University in the United States. C. The game is played to test whether people are more cooperative on the basis of rewards.D. The game is played in order to encourage the students to cooperate.68. The underlined part in the third paragraph means the punisher will have to _. A. lose some of his money B. lose some of the pointsC. lose all the points of the group D. gain the points of the punished69. What does the result of the first experiment imply? A. Rewards encourage better cooperation than punishments. B. Individual interests are always a challenge to the group. C. Four members will work better in one group.D. The group that punished most gained nothing eventually.【答案】A70. What do we know about the second experiment in the passage? A. The whole experiment, including two tests, lasted four years.B. Physical punishment was employed only in the younger group.C. Children in both groups have acquired same IQ development.D. No physical punishment was used in the younger group.阅读理解 Wind is the great maker of waves. There are exceptions, such as the tidal (潮汐的) waves sometimes produced by earthquakes under the sea. But the waves most of us know are produced by winds blowing over the sea.Now before constructing an imaginary life history of a typical wave, we need to know certain physical things about it. A wave has height, from trough (low point) to crest (high Point). It has long-the distance from this crest to that of the following wave. The period of the wave means the time it takes for succeeding crests to pass a fixed point. None of these things stays the same-for all depend upon the wind, upon the depth of the water and many other matters. The water that makes up a wave does not advance with it across the sea. Each drop of water turns around in a little circle with the passing of the wave, but returns very nearly to its original position. And it is fortunate that this is so. For if the huge masses of water that make up a wave actually moved across the sea, sailing would be impossible. If we want to find the speed of a wave, we may use the following way:Speed = wavelength frequencyHere, wavelength is the distance between two high points (crests), frequency means the number of cycles per second 1. What causes waves?A. Earthquakes and nothing else. B. Only wind.C. Wind causes most waves. D. Wind causes some waves.答案解析:答案为C。本题为细节题。由第一段的最后一句话 “But the waves most of us know are produced by winds blowing over the sea.” 可知,答案为C。2. Which of the following is true according to the passage?A. The water of a wave moves away across the sea.B. The water of a wave remains almost at the same place.C. The water of a wave goes with the passing of the wave.D. The length of a wave means the distance from the top of a wave to the bottom.答案解析:答案为B。本题为细节题。从第三段 “The water that makes up a wave does not advance with it across the sea. Each drop of water turns around in a little circle with the passing of the wave, but returns very nearly to its original position.” 可知,组成波的水并不随着波的前进而前进,每一滴水随着波的前进形成了一个小圆圈,但是几乎回到原位置。故A,C错误,B选项正确。最后一段提到 “Here, wavelength is the distance between two high points (crests)”, 故答案D错误。3. The speed of Wave 1 is 100 cm/s, frequency 10. The frequency of Wave 2 is 300, while its speed is twice that of Wave 1. Which of the following is right?A. The wavelengths of the two are equal.B. The wavelength of Wave 1 is 10 times longer than that of Wave 2.C. The wavelength of Wave 2 is longer than that of Wave 1.D. The wavelength of Wave 1 is longer than that of Wave 2.答案解析:答案为D。本题为计算题。按照后文提到的公式 “Speed = wavelength frequency” 即可计算出答案为D。
