Today Im going to talk about Unit 5, Who was first, which is from XiangShao Primary English, Book 5. In this class,I will teach the children through dialogue、pictures and some activities such as reading a small story or playing the game. Encouraging students to participate actively, stimulating the students enthusiasm for learning English and improving the students comprehensive ability of using language.Today,Ill talk about my lesson from six parts.Part 1. Teaching reflection(教学反思)Part 1.Teaching contents 1. Aims on the knowledgeThis lesson includes five parts:Lets listen and say,Lets learn,Lets practice ,Lets look and write and Lethave fun.(1) .To make Ss read these key words: first、second、third 、race and sports.(2) To enable Ss understand and speak: “Who was first?” and the answers. Make sure that Ss can use these sentences in real situations.(3) To strengthen Ss grasp the sentence pattern: “Who was first?”(4) To help Ss to finish the exercise. 2. Aims on the abilities(1) To develop Ss abilities of listening and speaking.(2) To train the Ss ability of working in groups.(3) To foster Ss abilities of communication and their innovation. 3. Aims on the emotion(1) To foster Ss consciousness of good-cooperation and proper competition.(2) to help Ss cultivate their abilities to analyze and solve problems independently. (3) to foster Ss initiative and creativeness.Key points (1) To help Ss ask and answer the question: “Who was first?” (5) (2) to make sure that Ss can use the sentence pattern: “Who was first?”correctly .(3) To develop Ss interests in English.Difficult points(1) To help the Ss ask and answer the question “Who was first?” and make sure they can use it correctly. (2) To finish the exercise by themselves.(3) The pronunciation of third and ninth.Part 2. Analysis of pupils(学情分析)It is not a long history that English is as a subject in primary school in our country .Our boys and girls are exposed to English for the first time, so it is very important to develop their keen interest in English. (1、学生是五年级的学生,通过两年的英语学习,已经掌握了一部分单词及简单的日常用语。2、学生对英语的兴趣浓厚,特别喜欢在课堂上进行比赛或者游戏。3、学生的思维活跃,乐于表达自己,模仿能力极强。4、学生对英语学习的兴趣还较为浓厚,听说读写演的能力已有了一定程度的发展,但随着知识点难度的加大兴趣逐渐在减弱,说写能力还有待加强。5、学生对于Flash动画的呈现形式感到很好奇,尤其是交互可参与式的。)Part 3.Teaching methodsAs we all know,the main instructional aims of learning English in primary school is to improve the pupilsbasic abilities of their listening and speaking and their good sense of the English language. So in this lesson Ill mainly use “Task-based” teaching method. That is to say, I will let the Ss learn in real situations, finish a task by making a survey to help the Ss to get a better understanding of the key structure of the dialogue. I will arrange three kinds of activities: singing, game, (finishing a survey and having a competition). And in this lesson a recorder(tap), PPT, school things and a some pictures will be needed. Students should prepare some school things.Students should prepare textbook. Part 2Teaching procedures and purposes of my designing. Ill finish this lesson in five steps.Step 1. Warm-up and preview(1).Free talk between T and Ss about things in the classroom.(2).Sing the song together: Ten little candles dance.(3).Review the number from one to ten.Purpose: It is important to form a better English learning surrounding for the Ss by singing and doing some total physical response and at the same time it provides situations to review learned knowledge for the next step.Step 2. PresentationNow Ill mainly talk about this step. It will cost about 20 mins.With the help of the PPT, I will tell the children,Yesterday, the animals held a sports meeting.Lets go and have a look.And then I will show the pictures of animal signs and hang them on the blackboard.Then I will say, “There was a one hundred metre race.根据生肖的顺序Question the students: Who was first? Wow! Mouse was first. Who was second,Who was third.? purpose :The purpose of this is to present the new words and sentences in the situation, which relates to the Ss real life experiences, to help the Ss understand the language easily and naturally.After presenting each new word (by the PPT), I will impart(给,给予,传递;) the knowledge of pronunciation rules in teaching the new words. It is called Phonics(看字读音教学法,声学).purpose:It can facilitate the Ss abilities to pronounce the words, and help them to remember the spelling of the words.Step 3 Practice1. It will cost 10 mins.including 1 mechanical activity to help Ss to recognize and read the new words and sentences, and a game in the meaningful situations to make Ss use the new words with sentence structures , to help Ss use the language in a real situation. (T:Great! Its time to play games. Ok! Here are some pictures for you, Lets find out who is the first and who is the last.)(Task-based teaching method and Communicative language teaching are used here.)The activity is to develop Ss ability of communication, and also, their ability of cooperation will be well developed. 2. Hearing the text a part records sound, following to read.3.The freedom reads aloud.purpose:To draw the whole Ss attention to the spelling of the words. It is to help Ss to learn the new words and sentences through a true situation.Step 4. AssessmentHelp Ss finish “Lets look and write” of this unit and workbook.Purpose: To check the knowledge Ss have learned in this period.Step 4.ConclusionIn this step, I will guide the Ss to conclude the key words metre、race、sports、first、second,and sentences Who was first,I was first.And also, I will encourage Ss to study hard,tell them thy are great and each of them can become no.1.The purpose of this is to stimulate Ss interest of learning English (and wide their knowledge about communication across cultures.)
