Unit 7 Know our worldLesson 37 Lets Learn Geography!一教材分析:本单元围绕地理和语言这一话题展开教学。课本从詹妮、丹尼和布莱恩的对话开始,介绍了世界上一些国家的情况,要求学生了解介绍世界上各个国家的人文、地理、语言和人口,学生学会如何介绍世界各地的情况。学生在学习与地理和语言相关内容的同时进一步扩展了有关世界各地地理、语言、人口和风俗的生词、短语和日常用语。学会如何介绍世界,了解世界,学习现在完成时态和被动语态的用法。当然,除了学习知识,还要培养学生的创新能力,争取全面发展。第37课,通过对话了解介绍自己去过的地方。二学情分析:八年级的学生已经初步具备了听说读写的能力,但水平两级分化仍不容忽视,尤其是学生口语、书面表达相对薄弱,因此在教学活动的设计上要尽量考虑不同层次学生的能力水平,多给与鼓励,增强其自信心。三教学目标:1.掌握单词:population,abroad,Japan,Japanese,island,Pacific;短语:one day,cant wait to do sth 2.了解介绍自己去过的地方:Yes. Jenny and I have been to China twice. He has been to every continent except Antarctica.3.了解如何询问对方去过的地方。4.通过听力训练,两人合作角色扮演的方式及小组合作交流的方式进行教学,通过实物或图片提供的场景练习目标语言,提高英语听说能力。5.初步了解现在完成时态的用法。四教学重难点:1.正确使用本课的有关地理和语言的单词:geography,continent2.运用所学知识介绍自己去过的地方:Yes.Jenny and I have been to China twice.He has been to every continent except Antarctica.五教学辅助:Multi-media, Study list六教学方法:The Task-based Teaching Method, The Communicative Approach七教学活动:Step1. Lead-inWatch a video, then let the students think about it: Whats your favorite subject? Why do you like to study geography? What can we learn in geography class?(设计意图:观看视频吸引学生注意力,快速进入本课题目Lets learn geography,并引发学生思考。)Step2. Pre-listening 1.Learn the new words. We have learned about the population of the world. China has a larger population than Japan. Have you ever been to Japan? No. I cant speak Japanese. I have never been abroad. But I want to go to the Antarctica. Thats cool! I want to go to an island in the Pacific.2.Check the new words.(设计意图:新单词的学习与检测为学生进行以下教学活动做词汇铺垫。)Step3. Extensive Listening(泛听)Which countries have they been to?Listen and tick the country that each person has visited.(设计意图:泛听课文,勾选每个人去过的国家,初步感知文本,训练学生在听力过程中抓取关键信息的能力。)Step4.
