Which page is your favorite? (on the newspaper) What do you want to do? Step II. Prereading (8 min)1. Presentation of the key word, “smart”. T: Do you know what I want to do now?. I want to sing a song. Do you want to sing a song?Ss: Yes!T: Ok. Lets sing together. (Ss and T sing the song of Teddy Bear)T: Wow, the computer is very smart. It knows I want to sing. T presents the word smart. T reads, Ss repeat. (Ss read the word in small groups first, and then Ss read it one by one.)2. Presentation and practice of the new sentence patterns. T: The computer is smart. It knows I want to sing. (T shows the sentence “It knows I want to”) Use the “Smart Box” to practice the sentence pattern.T: After I sing the song, I feel thirsty. I want to drink. (Face to “Smart Box”) Smart Box, Smart Box, Im thirsty. I want to drink. The box is smart. It knows I want to drink. Invite some students to get some things from the box, and then say the sentences. The box is smart. It knows I want to wash my face.The box is smart. It knows I want to eat.The box is smart. Ss read the passage(on Page4 and 5) together in small groups, and find what is really smart in the house. In each group, Ss should match the five sentences to the pictures on task-card. Then fill the words and phrases in the blanks.Step V. Rounding-off (12 min)1.
